An angel with immense power and insatiable desire, Adrian Mitchell leads an elite Special Ops unit of the seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen - angels who have become vampires - and command a restless pack of indentured lycans.
But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals - losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly 200 years, he has found her: Shadoe, her soul once more inhabiting a new body that doesn’t remember him. This time he won’t let her go.
With no memory of her past as Shadoe, Lindsay Gibson knows only that she can’t help being fiercely attracted to the smoldering, seductive male who crosses her path. Swept into a dangerous world of tumultuous passion and preternatural conflict, Lindsay is soon caught between her angel lover, her vampire father, and a full-blown lycan revolt. There’s more at stake than her love and her life - she could lose her very soul....

"Explodes with passion and heat. A hot, sexy angel to die for and a gutsy heroine make for one exciting read." (New York Times best-selling author Cheyenne McCray)
"Sylvia Day spins a gorgeous adventure that combines gritty, exciting storytelling with soaring lyricism. Adrian is my favorite kind of hero - an alpha-male angel determined to win the heart of his heroine, Lindsay, while protecting her from his lethal enemy.... This is definitely a book for your keeper shelf." (New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight)

"A HEAVENLY PARANORMAL LISTEN"
Vampires, Lycans, Watchers, Minions, Nephalims, Sentinels, Seraphine Angels and humans all inhabit this paranormal world that S.D. has soooo brilliantly created for us to share in and enjoy.
This listen captures you from the first few chapters where a paranormal Special Ops team of Angels fight the Fallen (Vampires) with the help of the Lycans but when Aiden (the Angelic Leader) stumbles upon Lindsay (his reincarnated soul mate) then everything is put on hold and action, tension, attraction, seduction and lots and lots of passion ensue as Ms Day skilfully mixes all these ingredients together to create a non-stop listen.
She also then adds a bucket full of interesting characters (including lots of yummy sexy Alpha types) who will have you drawn into this intense and sexy listen that's got plots and sub plots where we hope true love can eventually conquer all if it's only given the chance. However, psychological and biological warfare is also going on as Heavenly rules and regulations are slowly being broken and all the characters are secretly and cleverly being manipulated by someone...... but who?
Worth a credit? Yes it definitely would be - but for $7.34 why use one. However, beware this does contain sex scenes and some strong language so if you don't like these ingredients in your listens then opt for a different book - as for me, we'll I'm off to listen to book 2.
Like the romance, but love the action involved to get there!
"Interesting world, but read badly!"
I really like Sylvia Day's Crossfire series, so I wanted to see what she could do with a bit of the paranormal. The story itself is interesting but the narration is HORRIBLE. The guy sounds like "the agent" from the The Matrix and it's not too fun to be listening to a steamy scene with THAT voice....very bad pick there audio studio!
The world is very complex, it has angels and demons and vampires, and somehow they are all related, but yet hunt each other, but only certain angels hunt certain vampires and so on...it's very complex like I said. The steamy scenes tried to be steamy, but once again THAT voice...*shudder*.
I'll get the next one, just hope it has a different narrator.
"Meh"
This is the second story I have listened to by this author. I didn't like the first book and thought it was because of the similarities to Fifty Shades of Gray. But after listen to this book I have now decided that it is the author's writing style I don't like. The plot had potential but the story was so wrapped up in personal angst, that the plot was forgotten and only touched apon briefly. It was a chore to get through this book. I couldn't wait for the book to end.

"A decent story..."
Overall I'd say I enjoyed this story. It's not the best I've experienced but certainly far from the worst. This is one of those times when I think if I had actually read the story, I would have enjoyed it more with the voices my own imagination would have come up with. I do have to say that the reader (Luke Daniels) is acceptable for the most part but his voice for one of the angels was distracting for me (he sounded like Jack Nicholson, really...Jack Nicholson an angel?) and he often spoke far too slowly for many of the male characters. Apart from that though he was fairly believable. I'm definitely interested in looking up some of the subsequent stories in this series.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
"A winner!"
Another great series.
No favorite.
First listen and he did fine.
It is at such a good price I didn't use a credit. If you like this genre of book then I think you'll be well pleased with this one. It is the first book in the series and I'm already looking foward to getting the next one.
"Loved It"
A little bit of a 'slow starter" but it got rolling in a few chapters. Very neat twist to the Angel, Vamp, Lycan stuff I normally read. I really loved this book and find it is worth far more than $7. Spend your money here, save your credit for those nineteen and over twenty dollar books, LOL. I cant wait for more of the series, I devoured this one in 3 nights, tried really hard to make it 2 nights but I did have to have a little bit of sleep. Very steamy romance and a very good story to it. You wont be disappointed.
Narration was hard to get used to at first, but I soon got used to it and really missed it in the 2nd book.
"Loved it"
Am doing so now
Adrian
1st one I liked him very much

"unimpressed...kept waiting for it to draw me in..."
I have read Sylvia Day before. I'm unsure if it was the dialogue and lack of character development that was lacking or if it was the performance that didn't work for me. I felt like some of the character voices were amateur imitations of John Wayne, Jack Nicholson, etc. It became distracting. Once that started to click with me the dialogue was lost. Interestingly it was the male characters that bothered me the most. Usually with a male performer it is the female voices they have trouble with. In an effort to make all the male characters sound different, I think he fell back onto imitations. I wanted to like the characters but felt they were very underdeveloped. At some points I felt lost and uninterested. I did finish it but only after everything else in my library was already finished.
Tell us about yourself!I have been reading constantly threw audio books sense a verry small age and have never lost the love of them.
"Not really a new twist but I still liked it."
This book is a nice read. It has lots of blistering romance and sex but a lot of action to keep you on your toes to. The charactors are believable and you start to really care about them. the narration is good to. def a book you should try and I plan and reading and reviewing the next one as well.
"Great Story Bad Narration"
The story is a new realm for me. The idea of angels in love is kind of a heady thing. I wanted to be able to immerse myself in this story the way I have in other paranormal romances, but I couldn't. The narrator has a nice voice, but he sounded like he was reading a text book half of the time. There are some narrators that can pull you in on the first sentence of a book, while it took me a few chapters to get used to him reading. Only the story line made me listen to the entire thing. At one point I wanted to give up and read the book, which I probably will do because I couldn't pay attention to the entire story line because I was obsessed with the way the narrator was reading the book. If you can get past the voice, then this is a great story, I loved the explanation of why his wings are tipped in crimson :-) The characters are very believable and relate-able. I will continue to listen to the series because I'm hooked on the story line I just hope the don't use the same narrator.
