In a future where the United States has split along party lines, Agent Matt Tennimore’s job is to get people out of the Confederated Red States, whether they’re captured special ops agents from his own country or gay CRS citizens who’ve petitioned for asylum. He never expected to have to retrieve his high school crush, aka the guy who ostracized him for being gay. Rescuing James Ayala isn’t going to be easy: he’s crawling with tracking nanos and has a cybernetic brain implant that’s granted him psychic power he isn’t sure how to control. That’s the good news. The bad? The implant is compromising James’s mental stability. So they’re on the run, avoiding surveillance by AI aircraft and hiding from enemy militia. Then James confesses he tormented Matt in high school because James wanted him. Matt can’t resist the temptation James offers, but he wants so much more than sex, assuming they ever make it home alive. Is James really a good bet when he’s got a ticking time bomb in his brain and there’s the question of how much he’s actually changed?

"CHILLING VIEW OF A POSSIBLE FUTURE!!!"
In the top 100.
Very much like J.D. Robb's "In Death" Series because both are set in a very believable future.
Any good narrater brings a story to life with an ability to make each character different from another. Paul Morey did very well in this endeavor.
Red and Blue; Gay and Straight. Who would have thought it would come to this?
"Great blend of romance, sci-fi and action"
This was a great blend of romanance sci-fi and action.
The storyline was good and although I was initially cautious of the narrator, he did a good job.
So I was not disappointed
If you are looking for lots of hot sex scenes you may not be satisfied.
Overall it was a great listen
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
"So confused!"
Why are there so many good reviews. I am so confused. I have listen twice and I still don't understand. I just don't get it. HElp please.
"A Gay Dystopian Love Story? YES!"
I began listening to this book with skepticism and a bit of apprehension. Once I got into it, and understood exactly what was going on, I couldn't stop listening! an A+ story with an A+ narration. If you don't know if you will like this book or not, buy it. You too will love it.

"New experience was sort of fun"
I'm a Sci-Fi fan and this one has a completely different point of view. Something new to think about.
The opening scene is a real jolt.
Any scene with James and the Ms. Horse.
I was surprised that I enjoyed the story so much.
Definitely not for the Red State die hard!
"Somewhere in the distant future... but not mine"
no.
Paul is talented but I wondered if it was possible to do the old people's voices... older.
OK, I'm no prude, and I have listened to a lot of books, some good, some bad. this is one of the few I can't finish. Listen, I don't care if it's gay or straight, man or women, old people flirting or getting down is just gross. I got past that. when an author makes casual references to boys performing fellatio for money, I start to lose interest JUST a bit faster... I dread what's to come after those gems. So did I finish it? No. Will I try to? probably not. I already gave 2 hours of my life to it. So my review is not comprehensive because I couldn't make it all the way through.
