Now a major motion picture starring Tyler Perry.
Alex Cross was a rising star in the Washington, DC, Police Department when an unknown shooter gunned down his wife, Maria, in front of him. Alex's need for vengeance was placed on hold as he faced another huge challenge - raising his children without their mother.
Years later, Alex is making a bold move in his life. He has left the FBI and set up practice as a psychologist once again. His life with Nana Mama, Damon, Jannie, and little Alex finally feels like it's in order. He even has a chance at a new love.
Then Cross' former partner, John Sampson, calls in a favor. Now Cross must go on the hunt for the most cunning, psychotic killer he has ever faced... and it pushes him dangerously close to the breaking point. (Also published as Cross.)

Story twists keep you coming back for more.
John Grisham books. You hate to put them done without fininshing.
All I can say is they are both great narrators.
The ending I know it's going to be a Par 2. Can't wait.
It's typical James Patterson and Alex Cross, which I love. I had tried a couple of fiction that I did not enjoy, so I tried this one to see if it was just me with fiction. I love James Patterson's Alex Cross series and this audio book did not disappoint.
Near the end, when things start to happen really fast, I could hear the narrator's voice building and getting faster with the action in the book - I really liked that
I really liked the two readers, it made it easy to distinguish between the two characters, and I really liked the voice of the villan. I found the audio captured my attention, and made the suspenseful or the exciting parts come alive for me. I could hear the excitement rise in the voice and reacted to it. Made the book very enjoyable for me.
The only negative is that the book is a re-release of a previous book, and I did not realize this when I bought the Audible book. After listening, I went back to Audible and read the fine print which says it was previously released under another name. It was a book I had read a couple of years ago, so the story was not new, which was the only disappointment for me for this book. Had I known that, I would have chosen another book. Other than that, a great audio book! After listening I went to the theatre to see the movie with the same name, and although the movie somewhat followed the book, it was not the same story, many differences. I assumed if the book was re-released at the same time as the movie, then the movie would be the same story. There were some similarities, and the movie did not follow the book, so that was a bit disappointing. Not sure why the book was re-released, and it should have indicated this in bigger font or something at Audible.
Say something about yourself!
Yes, I already have. Great story and the narrator. Is easy to listen to.
Kill Alex Cross and Cross Fire.
Good but I prefer Andre Braugher narration.
Alex's love of his family.
Great story line. Keep them coming..
By far the best series I have listened to so far!
Alex cross, love his style.
I had stopped reading Patterson years ago since he seemed to sell his name to the highest bidder to put on their books. But I had enjoyed the early Alex Cross novels, so I thought I'd give this a try. What a disappointment. This is one long advertisement for the Mercedes Crossover. (Another type of sale!) Not a great story. Also, I was confused by the two voice narration. They certainly were ok, but I really didn't see the point of having two, especially since they were fairly similar.
Patterson's novels tend to follow the same pattern. If you like that pattern, you'll enjoy this. The performance is adequate, but not great, so listening doesn't really add to the experience. If you have a vivid voice in your head, reading this one might be better.
No surprises to spoil.
Adequate, distinct character
