In Loved (Book 2 in the Vampire Journals), Caitlin and Caleb embark together on their quest to find the one object that can stop the imminent vampire and human war: the lost sword. An object of vampire lore, there is grave doubt over whether it even exists.
If there is any hope of finding it, they must first trace Caitlin's ancestry. Is she really the One? Their search begins with finding Caitlin's father. Who was he? Why did he abandon her? As the search broadens, they are shocked by what they discover about who she really is.
But they are not the only ones searching for the legendary sword. The Blacktide Coven wants it, too, and they are close on Caitlin and Caleb's trail. Worse, Caitlin's little brother, Sam, remains obsessed with finding his Dad. But Sam soon finds himself in way over his head, smack in the middle of a vampire war. Will he jeopardize their search?
Caitlin and Caleb's journey takes them on a whirlwind of historic locations - from the Hudson Valley, to Salem, to the heart of historic Boston - the very spot where witches were once hung on the hill of Boston Common. Why are these locations so important to the vampire race? And what do they have to do with Caitlin's ancestry, and with who she's becoming?
But they may not even make it. Caitlin and Caleb's love for each other is blossoming. And their forbidden romance may just destroy everything they've set out to achieve.
Loved is the sequel to Turned, yet it also stands alone as a self-contained novel.

"The Vampire Journals series has had a great plot, and Loved especially was the kind of book you will have trouble putting down at night. The ending was a cliffhanger that was so spectacular that you will immediately want to buy the next book, just to see what happens. As you can see, this book was a huge step up in the series and receives a solid A." (The Dallas Examiner)
"Book 2 of The Vampire Journals Did Not Disappoint"
I rarely have time to read print editions of any book. After listening to Book 1 - Turned, I anxiously awaited the release of the audio version of Loved - Book 2 in Morgan Rice's Vampire Journals Series. I only hope Book 3 is on its way in audio format soon or I may have to find the time to read the print version. Can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.
I enjoyed Brianna Knickerbocker's performance. She has an interesting quality to her voice.
The story of Caitlin and Caleb continues in Book 2 with surprising plot twists and turns. There were some real unexpected moments but don't want to ruin the story for anyone by discussing them here. Morgan Rice reveals just enough about his plot and his characters to reel you in and leave you wanting for more. I sense there is so much more to learn about the fate of these characters, especially with vampire war about to commence. Super anxious for Book 3. If you are a fan of vampire stories, I would highly recommend this series.
I love to read but when I don't have time audio books are the next best thing.
"I love Morgan's books..."
I enjoyed that I could listen to the story and pause it on one device and pick up where I left off with another device.
Loved kind of reminded me the twilight books on the romance point of view.
She did seem to read quite slow, it would be a perfect review if she would have read a little faster.
Yes, all her books are great, I don't want to put any of them down.
I would like more books to continue on with this series.
"Loved, Vampire Journals Book 2"
It is wonderful not to have to read the words and paragraphs over and over again before I understand what has been said. I have a learning disability and I have difficulty reading and comprehending all at the same time.Listening to it is so much better.
When Caitlin and Caleb finally admitted that they loved each other and made love for the first time. And when Caleb finally remembered where he knew her from. Like Deja Vous. And poor Sam, has a new girlfriend and does not know that she is a vampire and has ulterior motives for keeping him alive. Also, when Caitlin gets stabbed with the sword.
She is pleasant to listen too and she makes the words come to life when she reads. She even changes the sound of her voice for the different characters.
When Caitlin and Caleb finally admitted that they loved each other and made love for the first time. And, when poor desperate Sam finally meets his supposed father and finds out that he is a child molester and not his real father. What a relief that was.
I am just so addicted to this series. The characters are great. The book flows seamlessly onto the next book with all the twists and turns. I love it! There is a huge mystery surrounding the search for Caitlin's father and the artifact that Caleb is searching for that you can't help getting engrossed in the book. There is also more action in this book and right when you are totally lost in the book, you come to the end and realize you don't have the next book in the series. Bummer! And I want to know did Caleb go back on his word and change Caitlin? I guess we will have to find out in the next book.Loved (Book #2 in the Vampire Journals)
"Accurate Review"
I would say so, Brianna Knickerbocker has one of the best voices for reading I've ever listened to. She performed her part with impressive movement. Like in the first book, I found third person reading difficult at first but looking at the storyline it was a great listen.
Vampires don't sparkle...nuff said
The scenes with Sam with the female vampire. I think the next book will make it interesting and too see how there relationship grows.
I recommend this 2nd book for whom have read the first. This is the same great read and will leave you in suspense.
