Northelm Boarding School on Lake Placid has the worst bully of all - a demon by the name of Hatchet Jack. M.J. Holliday, along with her partners Gilley and the handsome Dr. Steven Sable, are ready to send him back to the portal from whence he came. The school's summer construction, an uncooperative dean, and the very tempting Dr. Delicious are all trying to distract M.J. from her ghost hunting. But with a demonic disturbance as great as Hatchet Jack, she must focus and show no mercy to send him to detention for an eternity - in hell.

"Good twist and turns"
Great series, keeps you wanting more. Funny light happy. Listened to this on a extended car trip with teenagers. Best car trip ever. Everyone liked this.
"Continuing to be a winner series"
To me this second book is just as fun to listen to as the first one. I really like the main characters and the supporting characters. I love the comic relief added to the book by the character of Gilley and I like the kindness of the character of the doctor. Not to mention that ghost stories just really entertain me.
"it was a good book"
it was something to listen to when doing my home work.
can't stop reading.
if it was for lifetime movie then yes i can see it.
I'm a relationship coach (QueenBeesCoaching), survived raising my children and have a loving relationship. Life is good!
"A bit intense, but it kept my attention!"
I really enjoy this series overall, but this particular book was a bit harder for me in that I can empathize too much with the story. In this case, having children involved made it harder to listen to at times. Having said that, it was definitely a GOOD story and was well worth my time.
Will I listen to it again? Probably not. I can remember it quite clearly in my mind.
But then again, I am a self-identified wuss who cannot handle much of anything scary. CSI? Forget it. NCIS? If you tell me when I can open my eyes. That new kids movie BRAVE? I almost made a dent in the theater wall when I flew backwards when the bear appeared. My body reacts before my brain has even engaged. I can't help it. So knowing this about me, I'm sure you'll have a MUCH easier time with this story.
Although, I think I might murder Gilly. If I can handle it, so should he be able!!!!
"I really liked the characters so much more........"
After the first book, I knew I would read another. I definately enjoyed this story more. I felt like I already knew everyone a little, and got to get more details in this story.
I really like Gil's style. He doesn't try to be something he is not, and is true to how he feels. I Love MJ's ability to push thru the fear, because she knows that only she can really handle the details of getting rid of the bad spooks in the end. Everyone else helps, but she is the one with the power.
The story line on this mystery was also better. I really did like the twist and turns. I had figured some of it out about 1/2 way thru, but I did enjoy the author's way of getting the reader to the truth of the matter.
All in all, I really enjoyed it, and will go on to read the third book in the near future.
"Not even worth 6.95"
No one I know
Connelly, Child, Patterson, Quinn
The narratot was ok
disappointment, One of these days I am going to learn to leave the sales books alone
"He said - she said"
I am a big fan of Victoria Laurie - I have read all her Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye and I am now starting on the Ghoul's series. Love the story line and the plots are great.
It seems that "he said" or "she said" are used way too often. Even when the person is asking a question, the sentence ends with said. It will be awhile before I re-listen to this series. Maybe Miss Laurie needs a thesaurus?
Love fantasy books, usually with a strong female character. I also enjoyed just about anything from J.D Robb I am a fan of mysteries as well. I also enjoy funny and quirky novels anything from Molly Harper is a winner in my book. Since listening to audio books is important to me while I travel I also follow certain narrators as well.
"Light humor, and slight drama"
This is as good series for those looking for a book that will entertain, but one you can turn off or put down. I think it's cute but not a deep plot. Its good though to listen to when I need a break from the more in depth dramas.
