While she deeply empathizes with the hows and whys of life in the "pit", she continually points listeners to the deliverance that awaits. Deliverance is for everyone, she proclaims - no matter how you got stuck, no matter how long you've been down, whether you think you deserve it or not. And in her straight-talking but loving style, she reminds listeners that deliverance can begin for them this very day.

"Listen to over and over"
One of the best books I have. I've listened to this book a couple of times because I get something new out of it each time. Great book!
"A must to listen to."
This audiobook was so helpful. Beth Moore knows how to reach the heart and mind. She is always right there to help and guide. I would recommend this book for everyone. Loved It.
"the end is worth the price"
I didn't really relate to many of the situations that she mentioned in terms of ways of falling into the pit, and I felt the message wasn't personal to my needs, but the end was worth the price. She ends with a chapter of recorded scripture prayers that have been as instructive as they are comforting. Set to nice music, really inspiring me to take my own prayer life to new levels. I recommend this to everyone for the chapter of recorded scripture prayers.
"Practical Advice for Practical People"
This is a book that one can listen to over and over again. It is not only imperative to learn how to get OUT of a pit, but how to STAY out. Beth's practical, applicable teachings are perfect for those days when you may feel yourself sliding, or being pushed, or jumping back into that pit.
My "A-HA!" moment came as the author was speaking about things we may inadvertently do to cause us to become mired in the mud of the pit. Things we may not consciously realize we do, but as they accumulate can cause that "slide" down into the mud.
This is my first (but definitely not my last) listen to Beth Moore.
I listened to this audiobook in my car on the way to work, and more than once found myself sitting in the parking lot wishing I didn't have to go in, so I could stay and listen to more. To me, that's a sign of book worth listening to.
"Love listening to Beth!"
Yes, for encouragement.
Everyone suffers, we can chose to stay in the pit or with the help of God get out and live a life full of meaning.
"Refreshing dose of Grace!"
I love that Beth Moore narrated this herself. Beth describes all the ways we can get ourselves into "pits" in a very frank and non-judgemental way, which in my experience is unusual in the Christian (particularly the mainline, evangelical denominations such as Beth belongs to) community. But more importantly, she offers help on how to get out of the messes we sometimes find ourselves in.
"Life changing"
There are a great books and then there are exceptional books from a pragmatic stand point. I couldn't agree with Beth more (no pun intended). We need the practical application of God's word to enable to be open to surrendering to God's changing power in our lives. This one was timely and applying these principles along with Celebrate Recovery accountability I feel truly launched towards the freedom God intended.
Beck Tirabassi's - Let Prayer Change Your Life. The first book that help me to understand how vital prioritizing time with God is. This is the next steps...
I've read Believing God and when Godly people do ungodly things.
I had to park my car and listen to the end.
"Add another winner to Beth's books"
It is easier to listen to Beth Moore than reading it. Her energy and insight motivates me than the printed word.
no, I wanted to follow instructions and build on each chapter
"Lemons to lemonade"
The author doesn't meet the reader where they are (in a pit), she stands at the top of the opening and yells down "God loves you and doesn't want you to be there"....like I didn't already know that.
"15 Minutes And I Shut It Off. Refund Please!"
Telling me something other than Jesus will help you if you let him.
No, this book doesn't belong in the self help genre. Author is not depending on self help. She is depending on Jesus to do it instead.
She might as well been standing on a pulpit.
The author!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Move this book from self help to religous materials. I can only hope that the money I paid for this audio book gets donated to a church that will do something for its members. At least that way I won't feel that my money was wasted.
