"Worth a listen"
The stories told in this audiobook are different than other erotica I have read or to which I have listened. Not your typical Penthouse letters, which can get repetitive and predictable. While I did not find all of the stories erotic, they did keep my attention because they were well told and different.
"Erotic Feast"
Nourishment for the erotic imagination is hard to find. What commonly passes for the expression of sexuality is so narrow in its range--lacking for example women's voices--that instead of feeding the erotic imagination, it starves it. This collection, on the other hand, is a cornucopia. The stories portray a broad range of sexual expression with a richness and spice that made me dang horny.
The characters and story lines, by going beyond the usual confines (regarding, for instance, age, class, and heritage), sometimes tantalize and disturb, often titillate, and sometimes all of these at once. I loved letting my erotic mind wander to the places envisioned by each unique writer. By vsiting these places, safely in the imagination, land of infinite possibilities, I expanded my understanding of the erotic and of myself, and got an erotic feast that left me with the delicious taste of forbidden fruit.
"The Best American Erotica 2006"
I think most women would appreciate the story details in this audio book and the people who read the them. I really didn't care to much for this audio book. I guess for me there was way too much other than hetrosexual stories for my liking. I found myself not interested or a little bored with most of the stories. If you like a big mix of erotic stories then the book may be for you. If you don't like other than hetrosexual stories then I would suggest looking elsewhere.
"hit just the right spot"
Not every story was my kind of erotica, but there were many that were amazing and hit just the right spot. I plan to buy more from this series.
"Not my thing"
I did not enjoy this type of erotica. It was not erotic to me but rather close to being deviant. Be wary.
"Not even close"
To say this disappoints, isn't even close. Sorry Susie, love your stuff, but I guess even you have your bad days!
"Better luck next year…"
Usually Susie’s taste is supreme, or at least comparable to mine. This selection though seemed to fall below her par. But of course it is only her review of what hit the erotica market it 2006. Maybe we all had a bad year.
One exception in the book is the story "Grifter" by Carol Queen, which is a sweet tale of revenge and just deserts. Alas even this story seems abridged, with missing details and a rushed ending.
