Ten years after graduation, Jake "the jock" Campbell and Brandon "the nerd" Bartlett are teaching at their old high school and still living in separate worlds. When Brandon is thrown into a coaching job on Jake's baseball team, they find themselves learning more about each other than they'd ever expected. High school is all about image - even for the teachers. Brandon and Jake have to get past their preconceived notions to find the friendship needed to work together. And somewhere along the way, they discover that perceptions can always change for the better.

"Narrator ruined a good story"
Working a touchy Subject
I thought that the premise of the story was extremely good.
I thought that the narrator was extremely monotoned compared to other stories that I have listed to. Honestly, his reading ruined what could have been a great love story.
Life after High School
I thought that the book took a sensitive subject and made it extremely acceptable. I just didn't care for the music and the the cheesy overtone that the narration took. I think that I would have enjoyed this story much more if I had read it instead of listening to it. I just didn't think that the narration did the story justice.
"Good and Bad"
Read the story and enjoyed it. Can't say much about the audio. Was hoping for a better interpretation.
When Jake took a chance to find out if Branden was gay.
Boring, drone, monotone
Branden, Jake sounds too grumpy for me.
Dreamspinner really needs to find better narrators!
"Guilty Pleasure - Fun Story - NSFW ;)"
Lot's of sex scenes. The story is cute. A little cliché, but hey, better than most gay fiction.
"A GREAT love story. Well worth the time and money."
Yes. It is simply a good story. Well written, with likable characters that have real world problems.
The almost "fish out of water" part about Brandon becoming a coach at the beginning of the book.
Jeff is a great narrator. He brings an almost indescribable individuality to his characters. In my eyes the narration is more important than the story, and Jeff Gelder hits the nail on the head every time.
Jake. He just seems like more "my type" than Brandon or any of the minor characters.
A+ narration of an A+ story.

"The Best of the Best!"
Roux and Urban are two of the best authors of M/M romance today, (although I understand they're not collaborating anymore) and Caught Running is my favorite of their books. The inside information we have from the two guys, knowing that they are each hot for the other makes the tension just a little bit spicier. We're about half way through the story before they finally hook up, but its told so well that you don't realize how much suspense you are in.
The only slight draw back is the narration. There are many mispronunciations and odd inflections but they're easy to get passed, except the word Mischievous,
(Not mischeeveeus) its a pet peeve of mine and until I listened to the audio version I hadn't noticed how many times it is used in this book. That one thing aside, I highly recommend this book for a light bit listening enjoyment.
"early work lacks later polish"
Like many I fell in love with Urban and Roux thanks to the cut and run series. This work feels like a High School attempt at a novel. They use stereo types as the basis for their characters and as result they have no depth. Roux in particular has since developed a biting wit and sarcasm that makes me laugh out loud. This trait has become even more apparent in her solo work. Unfortunately this work shows none of that.
The narration is like the rest of the work is completely forgettable.
The book is ok just not memorable in any way and i will most likely forget I own it a year from now
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
"This must be early work from Urban and Roux"
I like the story... but I listen to this after the Cut and Run series and boy this just does not meet the same level of writing. This must be early work form Urban and Roux. I mean they have come a very long way if this came before Cut and Run, if not, then it had to be the narration.
Narration was just not all that great. Just ok...
"great listening!"
the narrator did a great job on this one!
It was really easy listening and he made the story come alive for me.
The storyline was okay - enough tension in the first half a
nd great sex in the second half.
So enjoy!
