Publisher's Summary

Husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo are intrigued when an archaeologist friend requests their help excavating a top secret historical site. What they find will set them on a hunt for a prize greater than they could ever imagine. The clues point to the hidden tomb of Attila the Hun, the High King who was reportedly buried with a vast fortune of gold and jewels and plunder....a bounty that has never been found. As they follow the trail through Hungary, Italy, France, Russia, and Kazakhstan - a trail that they discover leads them not to one tomb, but five - the Fargos will find themselves pitted against a thieving group of amateur treasure hunters, a cunning Russian businessman, and a ruthless Hungarian who claims direct descent from Attila himself...and will stop at nothing to claim the tombs' riches as his own.

    "Great Entertaining Read"

Clive Cussler does it again. From the first page of the book, the reader’s attention is grabbed and kept throughout the book. Although unbelievable, Clive Cussler entertains the reader with an action packed adventure of Sam and Remi Fargo, taking them from one continent to another as they try to find the treasures of Attila the Hun. I found this book to be an entertaining read that kept my attention throughout all 384 pages. I would definitely recommend it.

I am a registered nurse and a father of four great kids. I live in a rural part of Oregon and love it. I enjoy books, but Sci-Fi Fantasy has allows been the ones I reach for more than others.

"The Fargos are at it again."
Would you listen to The Tombs again? Why?

Yes, the story is interesting in a historical and adventure sense. The characters are as with most of Cussler's characters are well defined and developed in a way that pulls you into the story even if you are not normally an adventure book series person.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Tombs?

The fighting scene in which the Fargos are using cannon balls to fight off snipers. The way the Fargos ecape the main bad guys home on horseback after using flour to cause a flash over explosion to set the kitchen on fire.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, in fact while at working doing the stocking at night my co-workers would give me funny looks because of my random outburst of laughter related to the story. I loved having the story going thru headphones as I worked through the long hours in the very early morning

    "Typical Cussler"

This is a Typical Cussler Novel. It is fast moving and fast paced from the beginning. It keeps you on the edge from the start and is hard to stop once it is started. The characters are always in wild and fast paced situations and always find clever and exciting ways to prevail.
Scott Brick's narration is always good and clear and easy to listen to.
Clive Cussler's novels are always great and I can't wait for the next one, no matter who the characters are, to come out.

    "Great"

Lots of action. This may be one of Cussler's best Fargo books. I hated for my trip home to end each day because I wanted to keep listening.

"Enjoyed the story, but was typical of his books"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

No, I don't think I would change anything. Then I'm a reader, not a writer.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

As usual, the main characters jump right into and out of trouble.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

I do enjoy his reading for these action adventure stories

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes

    "The Tombs - Nice Adventure"

The story was good to very good. It kept my interest since it is based on historical subject which I fancy. It has a nice historical reconstruction I like as well. Some of the actions are bit stretch but not outlandish. I like the geographic and cultural backdrops. It could be made into a movie as well. I glad I listen it and would listen / read another in the series. I do not think I would read this novel again. It was not that good.

The performance by Mr. Brick was very good. I forgot it was a male imitating a female voice.
    voice.

    "Good history lesson"

I have not read many CC books but always like the stories of fact behind the fiction. In this case Sam and Remi are great characters and always have their knocks as well as the wins. I did not read the previous one in this series due to some reviews about it being boring. I can say that this story is not, and well worth the listen in this series.

    "Easy listening, No thinking story"
If you could sum up The Tombs in three words, what would they be?

Starts out same as all other Largo tales. However, story gets old as the impossible continues to happen over and over again.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Make the story more realistic as the Largos go about the adventure and less mission impossible.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    no
