Pretty Little Lawyer

Yes. This is fluffy, soft porn, but I gave the writing two stars rather than just one, because the book is genuinely amusing.

He could get a degree in psychology, or at least do more research into human nature before sitting down to write. The characters in "Pretty Little Lawyer," for example, are unbelievable. They simply do not behave as people behave in the real world. I would hazard a guess that most victims of violent crime do not want to have sex with a stranger a day or so after having been raped. There are exceptions, namely those who have been gang raped and/or repeatedly raped in the past and are acting out the "if I never say 'no' I can't be raped" principal. But to have two recent rape victims in need of one-night stands in the same book stretches the bounds of credibility. One of them knew what she was in for beforehand, she sort of volunteered for it for altruistic reasons, but she still had bruising in her, ahem, nether regions. So why she'd be in the mood a day later, I don't know. The serial killer seems unrealistic to me as well. I just never quite buy him as a sociopath.

Her performance of "One-Eyed Jack" is inspired. In this case it's more like she's just trying to get through bits of it. 'Can't say as I blame her. She has cute voices for all of the guys though. :)

It made me laugh pretty hard. :)

This book really does have entertainment value. Just don't take it too seriously. And for heavens sake men, don't believe that real rape victims typically shake off the event so readily! Any woman who has apparently "gotten over it" in such a rapid fashion is very likely repressing her true feelings.

I may try another book by the author. Interesting concept for a book.

Katherine Joan Taylor been replaced. Her voice was very annoying. She never altered her voice. I couldn't tell what was prose and what was a character speaking nor could I tell a difference between characters.
