"My name is Mike Ross and I'm a Ferryman - like in the Greek myth. I didn't ask for, or really want, the job, but I'm trying to make the best of it. Most ghosts are okay and just need a little help to get where they need to go. Unfortunately, there are lots of exceptions, like power-mad psychopaths, spirits still trying to fight battles long since lost, and the worst of the lot - the Skinwalkers. They live vicariously by possessing people and controlling them like puppet masters. Then they toss them aside when they've outlived their usefulness. One of them stole my father 15 years ago, and now I'm going to make that ghost pay."

1*=I didn't like it..... 2*=It was OK...... 3*=It was good but I will never read it again.......... 4*=Maybe I will read it again in the future.............. 5*=I will definitely read it again(maybe more than once)
"UNDERAPPRECIATED Masterpiece!!!"
Second book is as good as the first,
and from this moment on
Jim Bernheimer is in my top 10 Favorite Authors
and Jeffrey Kafer performed an outstanding narration.
PS
I was upset to find out that there is no 3rd book as of yet,
but according to the author he has plans
for at least 1 probably 2-3 more books in a dead eye series.
Let's hope they will be available soon.
Say something about yourself!
"Just as good as the first book..."
Yeah I would, if you liked the first book you'll like the second book too...
When mike's spirit was put in a dogs body, it was kinda interesting that he still alive and that he can leave his own physical body and spirit jump.
When he met and fought Lee Harvey Oswald.
I would recommend this book to people who are into supernatural books and i just wanna know when are we getting book three so we know what's gonna happen to Mike Ross and his group of spirits.
"Entertainment steady."
I really enjoyed this audio book and I will definitely listen again. The narrator did an awesome job! The story was believeable and scary yet well seasoned with lite humor throughout. I couldn't stop listening. This book maintained the intensity of the first book in this series. It really is a must read if you like a mix of paranormal, snarky quick wit attitude and suspense.
"Quirky, Funny: Worth it!!"
I've just converted to the Jim Bernheimer religion!! the book is funny, fast-paced and a breath of fresh air.
I took a gamble some months back and decided to read "confessions of a d-list supervillain" (Another book by Jim Bernheimer) and was amzazed at how much i liked it. i decided to read another one - although i purchased 'pennies for the ferryman', i still havent read it (in fact, i forgot it was in my library until a few minutes ago when i tried to purchase it!!)
i ended up getting the 'skinwalker conspiracies' some days ago, because of the reviews i read about it. all i can say is "a big fat thank you" to those who reviewed it, seeing as it was defintely worth the sleepless night and the loud (crazy woman) sudden bursts of laughter at the office today!
I certainly can't way to acquaint myself with the first book!!
any ideas when book 3 might be coming out? I'll take a day off work, just so i can read it!!
"As Good as the First."
This is the second book in the Dead Eye series. I found this to be as enjoyable
as the first book. Mike takes the show on the road meeting more historical figures
and of course finding himself in more trouble along the way. Mike finds that
his abilities are expanding and with those expanding abilities comes tougher
opposition. This is one of those series I was reluctant to try at first but it has
great narration done by Jeffrey Kafer and Jim Bernheimer has me hooked. I
will defiantly be buying the third book whenever it comes out.
I heart scifi, and have become addicted to listening instead of reading, or even watching tv.
"I really like this series"
I really have fun with this series. I listen to a lot of books and always have that moment when I start up a book in a series where I wonder if I'll know what's happening, but he does a concise recap without boring you or overloading you. Mike is doing well, growing, learning, hismcharacter is progressing nicely. Making good choices, with a few bad ones here and there, but he's human. So it stays entertaining and fun.
But, there is this one thing that needs to be discussed. He (author) employs famous dead people throughout both books. The first one was Edgear Alan Poe and a few war generals, I won't spoil whose in this one, but there's some good ones. I have a love/hate relationship with famous dead people having active roles. He does seem to pull it off though. I initially cringed, but they all worked well. At least it wasn't jack the ripper, I hate when when he shows up. I look forward to another book!
"You can't help but like the guy!"
This series was enjoyable....it is easy to identify with the main character...you can't help but like him. My one beef is that this series seemed to have so much potential...but never seemed to quite get over the hump from really good to excellent.
