Future Perfect

This book was an easy listen however, it was just okay for me. I have listen/read other Suzanne Brockmann books and you can tell this was one of her earlier books. I didn't dislike the book, it sort of dragged for me. The characters were well developed and the story was as well, but I got bored in the middle. It is a true romance book. It did make me laugh a few times. This is not a bad book, It is just not one of her best work. I will continue to listen and read other books by this author. This was the first time with this narrator and he did a good job.

There was nothing and no one in this story to make the reader actually care. Juliana is, in a word, pissy. Webster is appealing except for this one huge lapse in judgement--for some unknown reason he falls head-over-heels in love with Juliana--who, as I think I mentioned, is pissy.

Then there is the part at the end where I think she makes him grovel way too much.

I generally like Brockmann's non-Troubleshooter books, but this was a general fail for me.

I've listened to Patrick Lawlor perform several audiobooks in the past and I like his voice and delivery. I particularly enjoyed his reading of Brockmann's Infamous. In this case he didn't have much to work with. I do think his delivery of love scenes to be a bit too enthusiastic. A more subtle approach would make the scenes more sensuous

I love most of her books but this one was slow and boring and I felt like I wanted to fast forward through most of it. This one won't stop me from listening to more Suzanne Brockmann books as I have listened to many that I love.

I always enjoy Patrick Lawlor, but there was not enough story line for me. And I have read and enjoyed many Suzanne Brockmann books.

Definitely not like her other books -Mr. Super Aggressive meets the prim Bed & Breakfast owner and immediately decides he has to have her? I mean immediately -no conversation. And of course she doesn't like his kind. A good-looking successful writer who knows how to fix a car. Lots of internal reflection with little conversation while outwardly he pushes for more and she was so over the top obnoxious, I was ready to slap her 20 minutes into the story. A real man with a brain would have cut his losses after their first two semi-conversations. That's the plot. After an hour+, I cut my losses. Get "Infamous" or "Hawken's Heart," "Night Watch," "Get Lucky" or "Frisco's Kid" instead. They have romance, a real plot and lots of real action/adventure and real conversations. Suzanne Brockman can write great books, but this wasn't one of them.

I decided to get this book because it was inexpensive and I was looking for something light and easy to listen to. It was a cute story! Better than I expected. I thought the main characters charming. Definitely worth the cost!

Suzanne Brockmann writes a good book. You can count on them to be interesting.

I like Suzanne Brockmann's books - but I think this is one of her older ones. It was easy to listen to, but did not grab my attention.

Yes and no.
Yes: While one of Suzanne's earlier works, it was enjoyable. (She has become a fantastic writer through the years.) Patrick Lawlor (narrator) is extraordinary gifted. He MADE this audiobook!
No: While keeping in mind that I anxiously await (and constantly check for updates) anything new from Suzanne Brockmann (and have read almost all of her back list), this particular book fell short on the conflict.

Patrick Lawlor (narrator) was as entirely spot-on as always. I wish ALL of Brockmann's books were read by Lawlor! I gave the story 3 stars simply because the plot was conflict-free.

How very SAD that not one scene stands out in my mind as the BEST scene. Typically it's very easy for me to select one that MADE the book (especially in Brockmann's books).

As I'm a die-hard Suzanne Brockmann fan, I'll continue to buy and read (or listen to--especially if it's Patrick Lawlor) every last one of her back-list....and anxiously await every single new release. It's true-- auto-buy all the way.

Nice love story, fun to listen to. As always, I especially enjoyed Patrick Lawlor's performance as well. The thing I love about Suzanne Brockmann is that her characters seem so real, even in this early novel. Even the secondary characters had such a great story, I wanted to read their romance!
