Yes I would gladly recommend this audiobook to a friend and even strangers. I bought this book for my daughter because this was the chapter book that her class was reading. However, the teacher did not have enough to let students take the books home and catch up. My daughter came to the school after they had completed chapter five. She was told that she had to complete all the study guides from the very first chapter. She already has enough issues with reading and is about a year behind. So, I decided to buy the audio book for her, thinking it would help her to catch up because she was able to complete the chapters 1-5 at home and on the weekends. At the same time help her stay with them for the rest of the chapters. I also wondered if the audio book would give her a little more understanding of what she is reading. Figuring that if she is able to listen to someone else read the book and can take notes while listening maybe this would benefit her and give her a better comprehension of the story in general. It worked she was able to take notes and was able to catch up and turn in all her work before the semester ended for. She was also able to use her notes that she took while listening to finish her study guides and complete all the questions. In the end she was able to bring her reading grade up from a low C to a high B almost an A. I could not have ask for better. I know now that I am able to help her with her comprehension issue while reading can be overcome by getting her audio books. Giving her the ability to take notes while listening to the story. Thank You again for helping my 11 year old daughter not only catch up from five chapters behind; but also for helping her improve her grade and gain more confidence in her ability to read and comprehend what she is reading. I know how hard it can be to not understand what you are reading, then be ask questions from your teacher. Being afraid to answer in front of the class because you have no idea what the answer is. Even though you have just read the chapter with the class. I was once that student who had a reading comprehension issue when I was younger. I was made fun of because I never understood what I was reading and could never answer the teacher's questions correctly. So, thank you for taking away my daughters fear of answering questions. Along with being able to pass her test.

Good for children. I read this story for my 9 year old daughter. It was both scary and fun for her.

The close relationships among the four children were great.

Benny the smallest kid was the cutest.

The discussion between Henry and Jessie if they should go to Dr. Moore's house to pick up cherry was interesting. Their solution to go by two was a good one.

It was mysterious enough for children.
