Publisher's Summary

The Last Battle has started. The seals on the Dark One’s prison are crumbling. The Pattern itself is unraveling, and the armies of the Shadow have begun to boil out of the Blight. The sun has begun to set upon the Third Age. Perrin Aybara is now hunted by specters from his past: Whitecloaks, a slayer of wolves, and the responsibilities of leadership. All the while, an unseen foe is slowly pulling a noose tight around his neck. To prevail, he must seek answers in Tel’aran’rhiod and find a way - at long last - to master the wolf within him or lose himself to it forever.

Meanwhile, Matrim Cauthon prepares for the most difficult challenge of his life. The creatures beyond the stone gateways - the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn - have confused him, taunted him, and left him hanged, his memory stuffed with bits and pieces of other men’s lives. He had hoped that his last confrontation with them would be the end of it, but the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. The time is coming when he will again have to dance with the Snakes and the Foxes, playing a game that cannot be won. The Tower of Ghenjei awaits, and its secrets will reveal the fate of a friend long lost.

This penultimate novel of Robert Jordan’s number-one New York Times best-selling series - the second of three based on materials he left behind when he died in 2007 - brings dramatic and compelling developments to many threads in the Pattern. The end draws near. Dovie’andi se tovya sagain. It’s time to toss the dice....

"Doesn't wrap as nicely as Gathering Storm"

This was a solid and action packed listen. As usual, Michael and Kate do an excellent job with the read. If Rand and Egwene are the primary characters in this series, they have only brief appearances in Towers of Midnight. Perrin and Mat's stories finally get moving and are almost resolved. I would say that anything unpredictable occurs in those story lines, but they are satisfying nonetheless. The flow and story is so tight I actually felt this book ended too abruptly. However, I look forward to the conclusion coming in the next book.

    "ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!"

Brandon Sanderson really understands this wonderful world that Robert Jordan has created. I am saddened that we will only get one more book and then nothing but imagination. I have listened to all of the books in this series and I remain captivated by the charactors and the Narration. Kate Redding is really the best there is and there would be no Matt without Micheal Kramer. Mr. Sanderson has another loyal follower.

    "Not a disappointment!"

I really enjoyed the latest installment of the WoT. Sanderson has picked up the flag and continued this amazing story. I will tell you one thing this story keeps you guessing. You find yourself going through a myriad of emotions as this book unfolds and by the end I have to admit you do feel a bit like Sam the Hobbit at the Gates of Moridor trying to get in. There is a portion missing out of the recording which didn't make me too happy, but other than that I really loved it.

    "Excellent narrative..."

Sanderson has done an excellent job in continuing Jordan's rich storytelling in this second-to-last book in the Wheel of Time series. Thoroughly enjoyable!

    "Wow"

Prologue gave us a glimpse of what was to come. The book , so far, lives up to the promise of the prologue. I am up to chapter 8 now and and really excited about what has happened thus far. Like pieces of a puzzle gradually coming together so that one can see more and more of the whole tapestry that this series truly is. A magnificent tapestry with plently of places to view in detail.

    "Another great narration!"

I have been a fan of these books for a long time now. I happened upon the audio versions of these books a couple of years ago and Kramer and Reading once again do a wonderful job. I have read the novel already and albeit that there are many grammatical errors and bad editing in the book, who cares? Once you come to terms with the bad editing and focus on what is important, the story itself, it is truly wonderful.

Overall, this is an excellent book and a worthy sequel in the Wheel of Time series.

    "Excellent so far!"

BTW I did get the Prologue when I downloaded so bear that in mind. This is turning out to be as great as "The Gathering storm"! That, added to the great value of 48 hours for one credit, this is definitely worth the listen!

    "The Best Yer"

Without a single doubt, I consider this installment of the WOT series, the best yet. Brandon Sanderson can be very proud of his dedicated contribution, his interpretation of Robert Jordan's final outline, not merely good, but masterful, he has revitalized this epic fantasy.

    "OMG ... OMG ... OMG"

And The Battle Begins .... Almost at the end of part 4 and can only say "Oh My GOD". I am still in complete "awe" at how one man's mind could concieve a world such as WoT. Thank you Brandon Sanderson for so effectively putting RJ's final vision on paper and bringing it to us. Thank you Michael and Kate for breathing true and such vivid LIFE into RJ's characters. NOW .... I WILL HAVE TO STILL MYSELF to patients for the conclusion. And believe me I will be on the edge of my seat until the last and final book is released next year.

Book does a great job of tying up all the plots that have come before, can't wait for the final installment.
