How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must): The World According to Ann Coulter

As a die-hard conservative, I enjoyed Ms. Coulters latest invective. As Ms. Coulter succeeded in exposing the liberals as they are, I would have preferred a more structured presentation coupled with a little less cliches and euphemisms. Ms. Coulter comes in with both guns blazing while factually diminishing any credibility that the liberals think they may have. However, Ms. Coulters sarcasm and ala carte approach somewhat diminishes the objective and fatigues the audience during the joyride. If you are looking for a handholding experience good luck, if you are looking for an accelerated salvo of factoids, this is the ticket.

Ann is brilliant in this compilation of her columns. The abridged book is narrated by Coulter and the unabridged is well narrated. We have both copies.......you should too! If you haven't read Ann Coulter, here is THE PERFECT place to start. She is political sanity,
she talks straight. Conservatives will cry with laughter. Liberals will ......just cry.
This is a 5 star book......the ratings are political.(Trust me on this one).

Ann Coulter does it again. The author's intelligence and humor comes through in every chapter.

A true eye opener. If you see a bad review of this book rest assured it's a review by a liberal, the very target of this wonderful book so don't believe it. This only downside is that by the time I was halfway through i felt sick to my stomach at the realization of the corruption of our country's principles by the liberal agenda.

The book is funny, probably more so for conservatives than liberals, but I think the main point she is trying to make is you have to be able to laugh at yourself. I mean, when a liberal writes the same type of book they think it's the gospel and they wonder why conservatives would be upset. I found her observations quite amusing but I'm smart enough to know that they don't all apply and are quite exaggerated.

The first chapter of this book is new material and the rest of the book consists of Ann Coulter's previously published newspaper columns. (Coulter also personally narrates only the first chapter.) When I realized the rest of the book came from her prior columns, I thought I would be disappointed. Not so. This book is incredibly funny - especially if you are a conservative. In addition to showing her cutting wit, the book skewers liberal politicians and the New York Times. This is great stuff that you can only read from Ann Coulter. Solid logic and wit. (The prior reviewer who claimed this book was cribbed from other writers has not read this book. Who else writes like this?

Truth hurt those who love to do dirty deed in the dark

Talk about speed-talking. Coulter could be far more entertaining if she'd just s-l-o-w down. Lots of ideas hitting a listener to the point of saturation. Perhaps the non-Coulter narrated version is a bit better...

This is the first time I have read a book by Ann Coulter and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. This book is just so boring. Behind all the hype, there is just no original thought at all. I don't suppose anybody buys an Ann Coulter book for very much original thinking since blanket insults are her stock in trade but in this book even these are few and far between. I can't help but think that this author is completely drying up out of ideas and is just cutting and pasting at random from previously written material by other authors. To be honest while reading this book you get the sense that even Coulter seems bored by her own work. I would recommend this to diehard fans only and even then only to hardcore ones.

As a frequent reader of nearly any political history, satire or analysis, I found Ann Coulter's new book to be even less interesting and more polemic then Treason and Slander. It feels like a homework assignment that was hastily turned in. Also, I'm politically moderate (socially liberal, VERY economically conservative) so although I enjoy a good solid rant and sharp satire, most of this book is just hateful psycho-babble. I was expecting a better counterpoint to Al Franken, Michael Moore etc and this just isn't it. You may enjoy it though if you just hate liberals and want to hear someone confirm what you already know or think you know.
