"Dreamdark: Silksinger worth EVERY penny!"
I purchased the 1st Black Bringer book because I had a spare credit and read the reviews. It sparked my interest, I was looking for something different, randomly typed "fairy story" in the search bar...and Black Bringer popped up. I used my spare credit, and WOW...I was actually surprised and QUITE happy. The book was captivating and the characters very well written. I hadn't had a delightful fantasy "romp" like that in a while. So enthralled was I with the first book that I didn't wait for a 'spare' credit...I spent my money on the next book right away! I was NOT dissapointed. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK. Do not get me wrong, it may say "teen" in the section, but this story is delightful for all ages. I work in a factory and listen to audio books all day long to get me through the monotony of my job. These books had me skipping through my day! They are positive, up beat, and a REALLY good adventure. Both Narrators do a MARVOLOUS job.
In Silk Singer especially there is a really emotional scene and you can ACTUALLY hear the narrators voice filled with 'tears'. The emotion is there and the acting and voices are fantastic. It stops becoming an audio book and really become an audio adventure. I recommend this book and it's predecessor for all ages! 5 Stars!
"same great story- new disappointing narrator"
One of my favorites, found it after listening to Daughter of Smoke and Bone and grateful I did.
The narrator is fine but after listening to the original narrator it is so disappointing!
"Well Written Just Like The Rest Of Taylor's Work"
The narrator was 100x better in this second book that the first narrator they had. It made the first book unbearable to listen too. I fully enjoyed book 2.
Herrick and Whisper, most memorable characters. I love Slombie too.
Everything, she can do a wide array of voices as well.
I never want to listen to books all in one sitting.
"Story is great, but not the narrator"
I have read the books Blackbringer and Silksinger and loved them so much that I bought the audiobooks. In Blackbringer I think Davina Porter captured the spirit of Magpie Windwitch and her crows perfectly. Unfortunately in Silksinger this was not the case.
