Fractal Time: The Secret of 2012 and a New World Age

Gregg Braden is a best selling author and the audible reading of this book does it justice. It certainly generates thought among those who take time for it.

The key to the book is that the universe is influenced by returning cycles. Braden makes a wonderful case for this and has the technical background to make his points very well. He makes the point that conditions which allowed prior events to happen return within predetermined periods. Those periods can be determined and plans to better handle situations can be devised. He is not saying that history repeats itself, but that conditions repeat themselves.

Braden has not convinced me that his theoretical view of the universe is valid, but I will not look at time in the same way for a long time. Further, the book has motivated me to read more in the area of fractal time and its historical meaning.

Braden talks in terms of cycles literatlly thousands of years long. Al Gore might read the short portions of the book placing current global warming in historic context for example. I personally was entertained by that speculation, but his discussion of applying his theory to personal and historical events was more helpful.

As an aside, you might want to be prepared to stop your MP3 player and back it up in several portions of the book because they will certainly interest the reader. Keep a pencil near by when you listen to this one in case there is something you'd like to remember.

Gregg Braden is a very good author. He knows how to capture a popular topic and create an atmosphere that sells books. This book however is too wordy. It parallels some other works where he says phrases such as "in the only words they knew in their time, in the ancestral language of their day". This phrase is repeated seemingly 25 times and is overly dramatic taking away from what truth there may be in his conclusions of physics and numerology. Not one of his better books.

Eat up the information. there is a lot in there!
The scientific background mixed with the every day applicability. the elaboration on what is really going and and giving it a positive spin and not just an airy fairy tout.
I always enjoy Greg Braden and this book stays right in my library with all his others.
give it a listen, take it on a long road trip because you dont want to turn it off.

Pseudo-scientific nonsense at it's finest. And if that's not enough, this version is repetitive to the point of wondering if the recording 'skipped'. Do NOT buy this book if you value your credits at all.

I relate to this and am not seeing the pattern in my own life. I can make a difference and change on what happens and we only need to know that to take the second step of awareness. Well spoken!

I love the way Gregg thinks. He is way outside the box. Gregg is converging science with religion with spirituality with cosmology with ancient philosophy and defining core truths. Gregg does this in a completely non-judgemental way.
The material can get a bit dry as Gregg goes into too much detail but at least you are not left wondering what he is talking about.

I have just read his book "The Isaiah Effect" it is brilliant.

I will be looking to hear / read more of Gregg's work as it has helped me enourmously in answering my questions about "life, the universe & everything".

I enjoyed this, gets a bit repetitive but all over it made me enjoy my drive to Melbourne & back!

This should be listed as "Fiction: Myth, Legends, Fairy-Tales" . If, as an author, you plan to make galactic claims based upon grossly generalized and implied correlations, you should be prepared to offer at least some brute facts as substantiation. Myths cannot be presented as proofs for using fairy tales as factual history.

I have been told many things in my life, but he backs up everything with science. I have read many of Greggs books because of how informative this one is.

This has got to be one of the worst books I have listened to from Audible. I couldn't even get through the first chapter it was so dense and non-reader friendly. I wanted to whine and send it back to Audible. Tell this guy to come down to earth so someone who doesn't want to do "heady" can understand what he is talking about. What a waste of money/credits. Don't read it. If you want to know more about 2012, read a different author.
