A golden-haired seducer, Nicholas has been hardened by a painful secret in his past. And now that he has besmirched Reggie's good name, the hot-tempered lady has vowed to wed him.
Her fiery beauty stirs Nicholas as no woman ever has - and the rake arouses Reggie's passion to an unendurable level. Such uncontrolled desires can lead only to dangerous misunderstandings...and, perhaps, to a love that can live only once in a lifetime.

"[Johanna Lindsey] creates fairy tales that come true!" (Romantic Times)
"FANTASTIC"
Loved it from start to finish, was actually sad to finish. Loved every character. It has a bit of everything, drama, love, secrets, interfering family members that make you laugh alot, misunderstandings, triumph. The main characters are great, actually all the characters are great. Some of the voices are shrill but there are so many different characters the poor narrator probably was unable to talk for a few days, lol. I loved it, hope you do.
"Love Only Once"
This story is wonderful! I laughed, I cried, and could not stop listening to it until it was finished. It's about time Johanna Lindsay's books were narrated.
This narrator is excellent, she brings it to life with her wonderful voices. I plan to keep a hopeful watch out for the other Malory family books to become available in audio, as well. Thank you for the great listening experience!
"Captivating story"
Johanna Lindsey always delivers an appealing story. I always look forward to her next book.
Fantasy and romance junkie!
"One of my favorites by Johanna Lindsey"
Love the characters....good development
Love the interactions between the main characters...very entertaining.
She did a great job differentiating characters. very talented lady!
"As always with Lindsey Great book"
I have read the Mallory books several times and now am listening to them again Just cant get enough of those Mallory men. I wish they would make some movies from this series. They would be so great but then maybe finding enough men that are as handsome as these men are described might be hard.
Thanks Johanna for sharing your great talent.
"Great book"
I really enjoyed this book, right amount of smut to story.
12 step program please. I am addicted to Audible! I love trashy sexy books, award winning novels and everything between. Bring it!
"Why are they in love?"
Humm, I don't know about you but when listening or reading a romance book, I do need the main characters to be interesting and forge a relationship of some sort - either of friendship, mutual understanding, sexual attraction...etc. I wanted these main characters to develop some type of emotional tether but it never happens, at least I didn't think so. I never really got their union or why they were in love. They spent most of it fighting and not the fun, snarky type of fighting that leads to a greater physical connection, which is so commonplace in romance. This was just fighting over something that didn't seem to matter. When the big
Maybe. I did enjoy it when the Mallory men, Regina's uncles and cousins had their turn. They, by far were more interesting then the actual romance story.
No.
"excellent - couldn't put it down!"
Gorgeous spitfire yet uses her brain; handsome charming rogue with enough of an insecurity to make a woman dream of not fixing him, but healing him. But, like a rogue stallion. he'll fight to get away 'til he realizes there is no escape. Through in Tony and James... and you have hysterical inserts!
Tony and James have got to be my favorite people out of the entire series! Their wit in priceless... though the female reader ought to figure out a better male laugh.
Percy... doesn't he have a spine at all? He may not be too bright, but hearing "shut up Percy" all the time would seem to finally make him mad enough to tell them to "kiss this"!
James
When Nicholas brought the baby in to drunken Regina and figured out a way to feed the baby without waking her and yet being close to his son too.
Why cannot those who read the books realize their limits? Men cannot do a woman's voice and vice versa... neither can a woman do a man's! Sheece... Just read the story, okay?
"totally Brillant, Pl make into a Movie"
Yes
when Nicholas acknowaged his son
when Nicholas found out who his mother was...
yes, Laugh
I would love to see all of the Malory novals into a Movie!
"Love the Malory Family!"
I really liked this entire series. This was the first in the series, so it was unexpected for me. I enjoyed meeting the Malory family and learning of the traits that each brother posessed! I also loved how they all watch over Reggie and come together to help her throughout! Laural Merlington has a fabulous voice and I could really escape the perils of a hectic day. I have never enjoyed traffic jams so much!
