"...upbeat songs...catchy, appealing lyrics and tunes...masterful storytelling.?' (Booklist)
"...songster/storyteller Harley is a real find...humorous, canny, and supremely tuneful...." (TV Guide)
"Mrs Jones 1st grade class loved it!"
We think this is a great story. We loved listening to the story on the computer and imagining in our minds what was being told to us. We really enjoyed the sound effects and excitement Mr. Harley used in his voice while telling the story. We also think that Jimmy learned a great lesson. Life as a dinosaur wasn't so great after all, saying Please and being polite is the right way to be.
"not as good as Town Around the Bend"
There are some funny parts to this but it's not nearly as good as Town around the bend.
I did not like the language: phrases like "I hate your song" and "It's stupid", and the implication that the boy eats his parents was disturbing.
"If you like the word hate"
If you like the word "hate" get this book. You will get a good dose of it.
"Excellent story, but scary for young children"
Excellent story, but scary for young children
"Good but beware"
There's a little scary story in the middle that my kids always skip. It kinda ruins it for them a bit.
"A great book"
Our 4 and 6 year old boys loved this book. A great addition when driving somewhere - and as they are in a 'dinosaur' phase, the concept of turning into a trex resonates well. He is a great story teller, try 'Battle of the Mad Scientist' also - another great book.
The only thing that we did not like was that the little boy kept saying that he 'hated' things. We have taught our boys that saying 'hate' is a strong word - to be avoided. Other than that - an amazing book.
"Belly Laughs"
We purchased this audio book for our children to listen to whilst on a long road trip...the whole family loved it! The kids were roaring with laughter and I was doubled over in the front of the car...thankfully my husband was driving! Highly recommended.
"Delightful story!"
My granddaughters loved this book. They travel with their parents often to see their other grandparents and take the audiobooks I get them to listen while they are in the car. The parents love the books too!
"Not our favorite Bill Harley"
We are HUGE Bill Harley fans but "Dinosaurs Never Say Please" just didn't live up to our expectations. It isn't as inspired, funny, or creative as the others we have. Instead try "Town Around the Bend" or "Weezee and the Moonpies"--they are amazing. Unlike "Dinosaurs" I never mind when my kids want to listen to these because we enjoy them as much as they do!
