Though his kisses fired her blood, shadowed secrets from Alec's past threatened Jamie's happiness. She brazenly resisted him - until one rapturous moment quelled their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire promised to conquer her heart...

"Great Narrration"
I love all of Julie Garwood's historical romances, especially The Bride. I was very, very pleased by the narrator, Rosalyn Landor. She did a wonderful job with the Scottish accents and male voices. She definitely brought the story alive.

"Early works released in MP3 at last!!"
Finally, Miss Garwood's early works are out in MP3 format! Her Characters always capture your interest from the very beginning and entertain you all the way through with humor and love. There is a reason her books have sold millions of copies. Listen and see for yourself!
--Keep 'em coming Audible!!
"Awesome!!"
I am a devoted Julie Garwood Fan..So I was very
happy when the Unabridged version of this book
became available. The Bride was one of Garwoods
earlier books and if you haven't read any of her
historicals I recommend that you do. The Bride as all the elements that a true love story is made of.
"One of the best!"
This was one of the best historical romance novels I've read in a while. I was so surprised it was originally written back in 1989. Anyway, the story is well-developed and the characters are great! There is plenty of humor and an absorbing storyline that makes you feel emotionally vested in each of the characters. Even the annoying characters draw you in. The leading characters have great chemistry, and there is just enough romance to move you without making you feel like you need a shower or a cigarette afterward. This would be a great start to a series, and I hope I can find more Julie Garwood in this genre!
By the way, the narrator is top notch!
"Wonderful"
I really enjoyed this book and the narrator was brilliant, worth the listen.
"I Love Highlanders!!!"
Julie Garwood's "The Bride" was one of my favorite books when I first read it...now listening to it in audiobook form has brought back my facination with these charcaters!! The heroine is fun, vivacious and strong willed. The hero is a mans-man ready to be bowled over by just the right woman. They are perfect together!! If you liked this book, the spunk of the heroine and the baffelment and strength of the hero, you must read "Saving Grace" by Julie as well. I sure hope they put that one on audiobook soon.
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
"An Audible Favorite!"
Delicious * Emotional * Austen-ish
From beginning to end, I found myself captured by this story. The Bride, by Julie Garwood is very Austen-ish in the quality of her character development and story telling. I loved this book.
Rosalyn Landor's performance is spectacular.
I could not put this book down, and listened to it well into the night.

"Witty, delightful and wonderfully woven!"
What a fabulous story Julie Garwood has woven! Enriched with memorable and lively characters who are daring, compelling and so rich with life, they all but burst from the pages! Set against the wild landscape of the Scottish Highlands, this captivating tale weaves a spell and keeps the reader entranced to it's most satisfying conclusion. Simply a Gem!
Wonderful narration by the talented and versatile Rosalyn Landor!!
“I love all genres of books, however when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
"Captivating"
Besides being a great story, Rosalyn Landor brings it to life. Her narration was outstaning. The book has murder, mystery, sex and whit. The entire book was entertaining and highly recommended. I know I will listen to this audio book over and over again.
"Great 1st book to listen too."
I had never listened to or read any books by this author and got the book on a recommendation. I am so glad I did. The book was so entertaining and I loved that Jamie could not find her way out of her own home sometimes. When I was little I was always told my name was a males name only and so hearing this in the book was funny. I will be getting other books by Julie Garwood after listening to this book.
