    "Excellent Well-developed story"

This is a great story, well developed with strong believable characters. From the first, the background story drew me in and held my interest all the way to the end. I especially liked Lyon and how he stayed so confused by his delightful lioness that you couldn't help being on his side.

Definitely worth the credit. As usual July Garwood has produced an entertaining novel. Susan Duerden did a very good job of narrating.

"IT'S A WORTHY FIVE STAR LISTEN"

This book is full of GREATS - the narration, the author, the storyline, the dialogue, the characters, their chemistry and, of course, the romance.

It's all been said before by my fellow reviewers so all that I can add is that it was a joy to listen to this different, action packed tender, sweet, sad, funny, emotional story that stands out from the crowded bookshelves because it did such a good job of mentally time travelling you to a bygone era and feeding you a romance that nourishes your mind as well as your heart.

    Worth a credit? Absolutely YES.

    "Cute book"

I am happy to see Julie Garwood's older books being released in audio form. I have been disappointed in the narrator that has been chosen but she seems to be improving. I hated this narrator in The Secret and still want a do over on that book but she was okay in this book. At least she is not Whispering but it still seems like she is telling it like a bed time story. I see that she is doing the other JG books and I just hope she get better. These Books are cute and funny that I recommend to anyone.

I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.

    "A remembered goody."

This was one of my favorite books when I was a teenager and I still enjoyed it. Although the narrator drove me nuts with her breathy voice and she was very high pitched whenever the characters raised their voices in an argument. If you are like me, then the narrator can be ignored and still enjoy the book. I sent Audible a bunch of request for books I would like to see on audiobook and this was one of them. Now that I am older and after listening to this book, I realized it was a little cheesier than when I was younger. I don't remember the heroine crying as much when I read it which is slightly annoying while listening to it. I still have good memories with this book and recommend it as a good romance. Now we just have to get the rest of the series on Audible which are; 2. Guardian Angel, 3. The Gift, 4. Castles.

O Day of days when we can read! The reader and the book, either without the other is naught. Ralph Waldo Emerson. I Love to read, a great time for me is curling up with a great book!!!

"Good book, narrated by the whisperer"

I enjoyed the story. I only wish for a different narrator.
Every time SD whispered, I cringed and there was a lot of whispering in this book.
If you can ignore that, you will greatly enjoy the story.

    "Tantalizing tale!"

I love Susan Duerden. She makes even the mundane book pop out into color! I also thoroughly enjoy Julie Garwood too. While she isn't my favorite regency romance author- she is definitely up there! I really did like Lion's Lady- and found myself laughing out loud at several times, especially with Christina's "adjusting" to English life. I recommend reading. Was it my favorite all time, no- not for a long shot. But is it credit worthy? I would say Yes.

    "GREAT BOOK!"
    Any additional comments?

If somebody had asked me what my favorite romance novel was before reading this book, I would have paused, given it some thought and probably mentioned some of my favorites (Lord of Scoundrels, Bet Me, Passion, The Bride, This Side of Heaven, etc) Now if anyone asks me what my favorite one is I would say without hesitation, Lions’ Lady! I absolutely enjoyed this book! I had always thought The Bride was one of Julie Gardwood’s best books, but this one topped that! It had humor, passion, banter, and heart. I was so engaged in this story that I was starting to vividly picture the characters in my head, and having a huge grin on my face all the while. Christina has to be my favorite heroine ever…she was funny, feisty, vulnerable yet able to hold her own. The interactions between Lyon and Christina have to some of the most enjoyable scenes I have ever listened to/read! And Lyon’s love for Christina was absolutely swoon-worthy. As soon as I finished it, I started to listen to it all over again. At first I thought Rosalyn Landor would have been the better narrator, but I must admit Susan Duerden grew on me and she did an excellent job with the voices. This book has a lot, a lot of whispering moments, and I think she pulled them off very well. I am just glad it was not Anne Flosnik (she ruined ‘The Prize’ for me). I digress. Get this book! You will love it!

Yes, I am addict... I love books, I read and listen and just can't get enough. I do not like non fiction because it is too much like learning and I would rather dive in and be transported to a new world or adventure!

"Excellent book worthy of your credit"

This was a wonderful story full of romance, laughs and plot!! I love Garwoods books and this one proved to be no different. The narrator was excellent as Susan Duerden always is. I have to say I still think of one part in this book and cant help but to giggle again. I will listen to this one again I'm sure and so should you, happy listening.

    "I Love this series"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Lion's Lady to be better than the print version?

They are both fantastic, I like that I can listen to a book in the car on the way to work, and when I am unable to listen, I can read where I left off.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lion's Lady?

I really loved the opening story of Christina's Dakota Family. I was so detailed, it really makes the reader understand Christina later on in the story.

I also loved the interaction with Christina and one of Lyon's "ladies", it was HYSTERICAL!!

What does Susan Duerden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved Susan Duerden's narration. A lot of the reviews were complaining that she whispered too much. A lot of the dialogue required whispering, so I wasn't quite sure what the complaints were about.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh ya if I had the time, I would have. I did finish it in under 2 days though.

    Any additional comments?

Julie's Historical's are ALWAYS worth the credit. I can't wait for Guardian Angel, The Gift, and Castles.
