To Faedra, faeries were nothing more than the figurines she collected and displayed in her curio cabinet. She was in for a surprise. Faedra had no idea that faeries controlled nature, and with a book no less. Nor did she know that her ancestors had protected an ancient fae amulet for thousands of years. An amulet that, if ever was reunited with the book, would give the wearer power to control the weather, too. She didn't know all this because the one person to teach her died when she was just six years old. Well, now it was time for her to find out....
A letter from the grave reveals her true identity the day of her 18th birthday. But she barely has time to digest the revelation when she is plunged into a fight for her life - and a fight for all mankind.

I am a elementary school teacher. I spend so much time in my classroom so I use my non-student time to listen to books that I love so much. I love to read and this allows for me to be able to keep up with my books.
"A must listen for Fantasy Fans!"
As a fan of 'The Amulet' and the companion books 'The Emerald Staff' and 'The Cypher Wheel' I greatly anticipated this audiobook. I usually won't listen to an audiobook until I've read the book first. With The Amulet, I've read through the series 3 times before the first installment was release on audiobook.
I'm one of those people that either loves or hates an audiobook. I hate when a narrator reads the book as if it were a takeout menu. I much prefer the narrator to read it as a parent would a book to a small child. I want different voices and clear emotion. With this book, I got just that. Martha Lee's charming British accent lends authenticity to the quaint English setting. She seamlessly transfers from character to character. Each voice has unique tones, inflections and accents. She brings a new perspective with her narration. Her interpretation of Alison Pensy's work adds a dimension beyond the written work. Her ability to verbally convey the emotions of the characters allowed me to sit back and really listen.
The combination of Alison Pensy's excellent writing and Martha Lee's narration, The Amulet will become one of my go to audiobooks. I would recommend this to anyone and ev
