Publisher's Summary

When her father disappears in war-torn Mississippi, Hannah Dandridge finds herself responsible not only for her younger siblings but also for the Texas ranch her father recently acquired. A marriage of convenience could ease her predicament.... but is it the true desire of her heart? Wounded soldier William Barnett returns home only to find out that his family’s ranch has been seized. Though angered at this turn of events, he’s surprised to discover that it is a beautiful young woman with amazing fortitude who is struggling to keep the place running.

Despite these circumstances, Hannah and William form an uneasy truce... and an undeniable attraction builds between them. In a land where loyalties are divided in a country ravaged by war, is there any hope that the first blush of love can survive?

If you could sum up Chasing the Sun in three words, what would they be?

    faith based romance

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed hearing how their faith helped with the struggles of life. The mention of God isn't as frequent as the last write spoke of but religion clearly leads them and the importance of sharing that faith with other

"Disappointed by the sole focus on faith"

Proselytizing. Within the first hour of the book (which is as far as I could get) every third word is "God". Bible verses are recited and everyone positive in the story is acting on "God's will". Could have been an awesome story with some depth and the omission of the heavy religious focus. Unless you are a devout Christian who has taken Jesus into your heart, this is not the book for you.

    "Touching, Uplifting and Inspiring"

This is a moving story by Tracie Peterson, an author who manages to tackle issues of faith and trust in God without sugar sweet or corniness. Her characters are both relate-able and flawed. Additionally, I enjoyed the historical setting of the both the Civil War and the our country's difficult times with American Indians.

    "Disappointed"
Would you ever listen to anything by Tracie Peterson again?

Yes, I usually enjoy Tracie Peterson's books but this one was a real disappointment, not her usual quality.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Renee Raudman?

The voice used for the female character was terrible, very fake.
