Second in the Green Rider series from the New York Times best-selling author of The High King's Tomb.
Once a simple student, Karigan G'ladheon finds herself in a world of deadly danger and complex magic, compelled by forces she cannot understand, when she becomes a Green Rider: one of the magical messengers of the king. Forced to accept a fate she never would have chosen, she attempts to return to her life as the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but the magic in her blood is too strong. Pursued by the ghost of the legendary First Rider, she rejoins the Green Riders to confront an ancient evil.

"Am LOVING this series!!!"
sooo happy to find another series of books to enjoy. wonderfully written, and narrated. everything you want, mystery, intrigue, suspense, and a great storyline... just right up my alley.
"These book are great."
I read these books and enjoyed the story and can't wait for each addition. When I heard that they were doing an audio book I was a bit Leary. Some are done horribly, but Ellen Archer did a tremendous job. I have enjoyed listening to her and can't wait for the next.
"Excellent"
I listened to the first book and as soon as I got done I had to have this one. This is an excellent series! Checked the author's website & book 5 is being written now. Can't wait to hear it!
I love the voices she does! Each character has their own sound which is wonderful! Makes for a very enjoyable "read"!!
"Seat gripping"
I'm not big on fantasy novels but this was a free one, so I thought why not have nothing to lose, Man! it grabs you from the first page and doesn't stop. The narrator is fantastic I have recommend this to my grandson (14) got him hooked too.
the Berry sisters, who would know they are very important
All of the characters she is great added to my favorite
Read or listen to all of this series you won't be disappointed!
"Exciting Series"
Book 2 in the series and still going strong. This is a great listen. More history of the characters is revealed and there are some surprising turns. You will not be disappointed.
"Britain has a hit!"
Great work of fiction. I am loving it. There could be a little more strength in the plot. But too much could mess it up. Not bad.
"Unexpected adventure"
As an avid audio book "reader" I took a chance on this book and found it very enjoyable. The main character is not the regular old hero and is reluctant, at best, to do the job she was asked to do, it is a fun listen

"Fantastic Fast Paced Read"
Really enjoyed the start of this series. It keeps you interested from beginning to end. Pure fantasy.
"A very plesent supprise!"
Its like the Paksennarion series on steriods! I started with this book as I thought the first one might drag. Now I have to decide if I listen to book 1 now or after the end of the series. This is a fast paced book with lots of action. A cross between Paksennarion and Vada. A story of a young lady who is learning her magical abilities while defending her king and country as a Green Rider. A typical war story with a young hero coming into her own.
Avid Reader - mostly sci fi, but I love some of the classics as well.
"Not as good as the first"
Only insofar as as a means to get to the third book. This definitely seemed like it was stretching the story out to make a trilogy.
The time traveling and the reading of the journal were what made this story enjoyable, I would have expanded on those aspects a little more. I didn't enjoy Alton's story line as much. And I found Captain Mapstone's actions a little too out of character.
