Clare Cosi's new friend, millionaire David Mintzer, has an offer no New York barista could turn down: an all-expenses-paid summer away from the sticky city. At his Hamptons mansion, she'll relax, soak up the sun, and, oh yes, train the staff of his new restaurant. So Clare packs up her daughter, her former mother-in-law, and her special recipe for iced coffee for what she hopes will be one de-latte-ful summer...
Soon, Clare tends the coffee bar at her first Hamptons gala. But the festivities come to a bitter end when an employee turns up dead in David's bathroom--a botched attempt on the millionaire's life. Thanks to the Fourth of July fireworks, no one heard any gunshots, and the police are stuck in holiday traffic. Concerned for everyone's safety, Clare begins to investigate. What she finds will keep her up at night--and it's not the java jitters.

"Nicely done."
I wasn't expecting this series to pan out into something I could enjoy. But, I'm happily mistaken.
There were parts of the book that didn't make a lot of sense to me.. for instance, why would this female just hop right in and start right in investigating before the police? That wasn't answered for me.
Other than those few questions though, the book was a delightful cozy who-dun-it. The mystery was great and the writing is maturing nicely.
I've really enjoyed the narrator in this series. She does a superb job on the voices and makes the characters come alive.
Yes, I can wholeheartedly recommend this book and can honestly say I look forward to listening to the rest of the series now!
"Like an enjoyable puzzle"
A good, lighthearted murder mystery. Wonderfully rich plot with enough twists and turns to keep me guessing whodunit until the very end!
"It was pretty good"
This book started out a little different then the others in serires because they are not in New York, but it still had the great "make you want a coffee" feeling. I love that about the books, it as if you can solve anything with a good cup of joe. Loved the setting and the desciptions of the places and people. The only thing I seem to have trouble with is how quickly she falls in love with the new boyfriends, but still wants to hang on to a notion that her and Detective Mike might have a chance. I do like the interaction between mom and daughter but she really has to chill out, she started sounding in the shrill part of momhood. I've only listened to the audio books with this series and actually quite like them. I listen while I'm working so its perfect way to keep in touch with reading.

"It was OK!"
Yes, it was a nice lite mystery and I like all kinds so I will try another.
Less coffee talk, the same as with the authors that have too much recipe talk for food. It gets nauseating after a while.
yes, the narration was well done.
I can't say.
no
RETIRED & LOVING IT.
"NICE COZY MYSTERY"
