    "A good Radio Drama Western"

This is a modern radio drama western. I've been in the mood for westerns lately for no reason in particular. Perhaps it was all that Red Dead Redemption I've been playing.

I'd prefer the subject matter to be a little more adult orientated as this appears to be targeted for family listening. That aside, I found this first season of Powder River highly entertaining. I'd slap on iTunes, lie down in bed, close my eyes and get lost in the exploits of Britt MacMasters and his son, Chad.

By the end of the season, I had become so familiar with all the town's characters (think of how you may know all the characters in the Simpson's town) that I wanted more. So I quickly snapped up the next couple of seasons.

Overall good stuff. The audio quality and mixing is excellent. The effects are minimal (horses clapping away, etc.), good music et al. If you like family friendly radio westerns, this is one for you. Even if you just want to try it out, it's dirt cheap for the quality and length of this production here on Audible, I was quite surprised.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to adults and children alike. Anyone who just appreciates dramatized stories will not be disappointed in Powder River. My 8 yr. old son loves these fantastic western stories!!

What other book might you compare Powder River - Season One to and why?

I think the family and moral values and ideas presented in Powder River remind me a lot of the little house on the prairie stories! The father son relationship is a true winner!

    Which scene was your favorite?

This one is a tough one to answer because I so enjoyed the complete season.

Who was the most memorable character of Powder River - Season One and why?

Of course, the Marshall. I really love his strength and his love that he has for his deceased wife! That in it self wins my heart..

    Any additional comments?

I will look forward to listening to the rest of the seasons. I am so glad that there is no foul language used in Season one! I hope they continue this for the future! Its a good clean program for anyone, and that is well worth the money to me as a mother.
