Real Men Will

Eric Donovan is very serious, overburdened with responsiblility, and that makes him almost unlikable. In the previous two books in the trilogy, he seems to be almost overbearing. But as his younger siblings grow into their own, he seems adrift. Watching him find himself and love makes this story good. This book also wraps up the underlying storyline from the other two books.
Lauren Fortgang's performance was good and consistent throughout the series.

I love to see it when those guys that always do the right thing and hold everyone together finally get to enjoy life a bit more. A fun read

When I discovered Ms. Dahl I first found her explicit couplings somewhat appalling. I also found that in general most of her stories have a good love story. I really like Bad Boys Do; I wanted to read all in the series. This book was okay. somewhat entertaining.

No, there are other good books out there to listen to by Victoria Dahl. The story dragged and was depressing and irritating more than uplifting.

The least interesting part was the tension between the two brothers, Eric and Jamie. I didn't really like either one of them. I think they both needed intense therapy.

No, not at all. Not even a Lifetime movie.

Yes, it was uncomplicated and the characters had a voice. There was a background story to explain the main character's motivations and there was enough conflict (sexual of course ) to pull this story together. It is total fantasy ride full of orgasims with a happy ending. I enjoyed the audio from beginning to end.

It was expected. I don't think anyone with half a brain would be surprised by the ending. The intro set up the story and conflict. The rest of the audio just flows from there.

Victoria Dahl has written an excellent story that combines messy family dynamics, hot steamy times and the fall out from poor communication. Don't want to give any spoilers here but it is well worth the credit. I enjoyed the characters and the way Dahl pulled the story together. She does a great job capturing the kind of zany people that work in the food and beverage industry- she must have waited tables, slung drinks or worked a hotline before.

Ah, Lauren Fortgang! She's excellent(consistently!) and has been able to capture the sensuality in a man's voice( which can be no small trick) and the vulnerability of our very feminine heroine. I wish more literary companies would send my fav books her way- I've had to pan a few this week due to weak narrators.

I love a good romance but I found the dialogue and story line.... ridiculous.... and had little patience for this story. I did not listen to the second part of the book.....

I would classify this is a modern romance. A little more straight forward and graphic than a traditional romance novel. Interesting enough to listen to with half an ear while doing chores, but certainly not riveting. Pleasant, I'd say, as an easy diversion. The narrator did a good job with the characters, however I found her tendency to speak incredibly fast through the middle of long sentences a little distracting. At first I just marveled at her auctioneer-esque ability, but by the end I was just mildly annoyed by it. Overall, it basically delivers what it promises.

"Real Men Will" was an acceptable, but not exceptional, audiobook. Just a warning: there is some fairly explicit material in this book. The language is sometimes crass--the f-bomb is dropped unabashedly. And the sex scenes are graphic and vulgar compared to many other novels.

The storyline is interesting enough to keep your attention. My main problem with this book was that this modern day love story is based on the idea that a great one-night-stand will lead to more sex with the same person, which will eventually lead to love. I just found it difficult to fall for the storyline. In fact, I often felt that it was more a story about sex than it was about love.

The narration was okay. Eric's voice was a bit awkward. And, his little sister Tessa sometimes sounded more like a teenager than a grown woman.

Overall, I wouldn't necessarily highly recommend this book. But if you're like me and buy it on sale, you won't have wasted your money. You'll probably feel that you got what you paid for.
