As a healer, he knows her body. But it's her heart he wants. For a thousand years, Gideon has healed his people. And as the oldest surviving male of his race, his wisdom has always been respected without question. But Gideon knows that even he is vulnerable to the powerful, primitive desires that befall his kind during Hallowed moons---and nine years ago that truth was hammered home when he found himself claiming Magdalena, the Demon King's sister, in a wild embrace. Horrified by his lack of control, he left her wanting and furious---and then exiled himself for the better part of a decade. Now, with necromancers threatening his people---and Magdalena nearly their victim---Gideon must face another truth. He and the beautiful, stubborn Magdalena are destined to be together, to share a love as deep and old as time itself. But first he needs to regain her trust. Then he'll have to save her life.

"A stunning new talent." (Sherrilyn Kenyon)
"It's all about the Narration"
The narration of this series is what pulls me into the books, the stories may be over the top but listening to Xe Sands bring these characters to life with the perfect accents and character development equals pure listening enjoyment.
I am a passionate devourer of chocolate and books. I also listen to audiobooks and drink chocolate. When I die, I don't want to be embalmed!
"Steamy romance with Demons!"
I really enjoyed this 2nd story of the Nightwalker Series. Jacquelyn Frank continues with the world of she created of Demons and other Nightwalkers. In this story we get a little bit more of vampires and lycanthropes.
I enjoyed the romance between the demons Gideon and Magdelegna. I wasn’t sure if they would overcome themselves and allow love to blossom. Gideon being the oldest demon around is referred to as the Ancient. Magdelegna is only 250 years old, so she is considered very young. A child as far as Gideon is concerned and it will take a lot of work for him to finally start thinking of her any other way … regardless of what he feels. Magdelegna believes that Gideon is unfeeling, uncaring, and too detached to have real feelings about her.
I enjoyed that Jacquelyn Frank did not just decide that Gideon and Madgelegna should fall in love and throw them in bed together. Romance is something that is best savored over time.
Besides Gideon and Magdelegna trying to step carefully around each other, someone has brutally attacked Bella. This leads Gideon to speak with the vampire Prince Damien and the lycanthrope Queen Siena.
I enjoyed learning about vampires and the lycanthropes. I can’t wait to read more about them and their abilities! I have to wonder if Prince Damien and Queen Siena will find love amongst the Demons.
Although I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first, it was still a really good story. I enjoyed Xe Sands narration once again. Her voice is very pleasing and really draws you into the emotion of the moment.
"EXCELLENT"
As AWESOME to listen to as Book 1 "Jacob"
WOW, they were all so GREAT but I guess my favorite like in Book 1 was "Jacob and Bella", the fire between them ....I FANTIZED it was me with Jacob...LOL
AS I said in my review of "Jacob" she was AWESOME and drew you into to the story/book!
Yes ABSOLUTELY just like BOOK 1 "Jacob", but unfortunately sleep prevailed...lol
LOOKING FORWARD TO BOOK 3 IF THERE IS ONE...LOVE THEM BOTH!
"Demon Hot"
Audio edition is great; but I'm sure I would have enjoyed the printed version too because the story was so good.
All the Nightwalker Series are comparably excellent to listen to.
Gideon!
Yes, I wanted to listen to it in all one sitting; however, I would have then been disappointed that it was too short.
Purchase the Nightwalker series.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
"Gideon, such a romantic"
I love Lana, but Gideon is just soooo in control that it makes me a little angry. Finally this book brings the less controlled Gideon. I have to say though, he is nothing like Jacob. Gideon keeps his imprinting under control. I guess being an Ancient has something to do with that. Another part of the prophecy is being fulfilled... I don't understand though why it hasn't driven him mad, because he and Lana have been imprinting sense Jacob had to punish him. Lana got stronger, but Gideon, should he be mad by now. Whatever, still great book. Great listen. This book just fell right in step. I think Jacob is way way better, but this book is more of a character/world of nightwalkers builder. I think the only major plot point revolves around Beth and Mary, the demons that betray the other demons. However, this is a must if you are gonna invest into the Nightwalker series. Still, worth a credit. Good Read/Listen... promise!!!
Love to read and get lost in my books! I started listening to audio books about a year ago (as I work-out) and love it- keeps me exercising. I then usually buy the good ones and read them all over again.
"Paranormal Romance at its BEST. XE SANDS top notch"
Yes, already listenened to it twice! Great story, great series, love the characters, Xe Sands is one of the best narrators I have ever listened to. Her voice is amazing. Perfect for the series of night walkers.
The unique story line. The characters abilities
Her ability to change voices with each sounding perfect.
Loved through and through
Once you listen to Jacob you have to hear Gideon and you are hooked. Keeps getting better- get Elijah next!
"Great 2nd book to the series."
Wow. Suspenseful & Hot.
This was a great continuation of the first book (Jacob).
I was worried that Jacob and Bella's story would be left behind when moving from the
first book to the next. I am pleasantly surprised at how J. Frank was able to focus
on the personal story of Gideon while keeping with the plots, themes, and members from Jacob and surrounding the Demon Kingdom. It was a seamless continuation of suspenseful events including action, magic, sci-fi etc. which center around Demons, Vamps etc. while at the same time focusing on Gideon and his love.
Can't wait to get started on the 3rd.
If you are like me, and want more of storyline than just sex...this series is for you- This series really combines all elements to a Sci-Fi novel (storyline surrounding the world of Demons, Vamps, warewolves) while giving you the love and passion that make you love the characters. J.Frank teases you with very emotional, deep and passionate scenes that may not necessarily end up with just SEX. Kisses and touches in this series can make the reader just as (AND MORE) hot as the main ACT of sex.
And, just as with Jacob, Xe's narration is flawless.
I used to be an avid reader of Romance novels. I usually preferred the Harlequin & Silhouette series''. I would read several books a day over the summer and several a week during school months. I took a long break as an adult but have gotten back to it this year and am very much enjoying my Audible experience. So far I still really like general Romance but have found a real unexpected joy in Supernatural & Paranormal Romances.
"So intense, I got goose bumps"
This story was so great. The chemistry between the two main characters was represented so well it literally gave me goose bumps at times. The world is great and I love learning more about it with each book. I honestly have a hard time turning the book off so that I can have an actual life. I'm looking forward to getting the next one. Unfortunately I have to read some of the other books in my library or they won't get read till I'm through this series.
"such a fun book!"
I have really enjoyed these books, as they are a different take on the whole demon, wereanimal, and vampire worlds. This book is sexy and has a strong story-line to go along with it. The main women in the books are strong characters in their own rights, but are made more complete by their bond with the male counter-parts.
Gideon is such a dry character, but made lovable by his fun-loving new mate. Her resistance to him and her final acquiescence is so endearing you want to jump right to the next book.
"Jacequelyn Frank Did It Again!"
Yes. The storyline was fantastic and I loved every character and thir personalities. I found myself lost in every moment of the book and paying particular attention to certain character which are featured in the other books. The fantasy in this book was almost real to me and I must say Ms Frank has quite the imagination.
It was hard to choose just one favorite character cause I had a few: Gideon, Magdalena and Noah.
Gideon because of he is so reserve yet compassionate. His people respects him because of his age and knowledge, yet they fear him. He is like any other person, needing to love and be loved. I never would have thought his character to be so vulnerable towards a woman, yet I liked it. He and Magdalena made the perfect couple and I also found myself taken a liking to her as well. Magdalena herself is a proud and strong woman and deserving of any man. I could not see her character being with anyone else other than Gideon.
Noah as leading of his clan is strong and fair in all his judgements, always putting his people first. His love for his family is remarkable but yet he is alone. I can't wait to read his story to find out more about him and the woman he falls in love with.
Xe Sands is by far my favorite narrator. I wish she narrated all the books I read. The woman is a genius when it comes to portraying her characters. Each and everyone had a distinct voice and personality, it was like watching a movie. And the ways she switches between character is amazing. I swear the woman could have a split personality.
I was so taken by this woman's talent that I researched her biography to learn more about her.
My most touching moment was when Gideon and Magdalena finally realized they imprinted on each other and all the moment leading up to them giving into their fears and desires.
A must buy. Definitely worth the money. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
