Publisher's Summary

Renowned fake conservative pundit Stephen Colbert may have coined the word truthiness, but it's Greg Gutfeld, real conservative political pundit and host of the Fox News Channel's Red Eye who has made a name for himself by unabashedly pronouncing the actual uncomfortable truthiness of life that is sure to shock the P.C.

The Bible of Unspeakable Truths is packed full of his most aggressive (and hilarious) rants, with each chapter devoted to a single "unspeakable truth". For example, in one chapter he might be ranting that "liberals are the least liberal minded people you know," and in the next, "You aren't racist if you make fun of poor whites."

Though Gutfeld is best known for his "straight-from-the-gut" political commentary, as featured every night on Red Eye as well as his blog, The Daily Gut, this book will go well beyond politics, exploring pop culture, current events, and nearly every other aspect of life, such as "if house cats were your size, they would eat you without a second thought," "PETA would never march for a vulture," "The media wanted bird flu to kill thousands," "Attractive people don't write for a living," and "Ethan Hawke is a rodent."

With an irreverent voice, sharp wit, and a take on nearly everything, this "manual about how to think about things, for people equipped to think about things" will be one that listeners either love wholeheartedly, or love to hate - and will guarantee to entertain and amuse anyone who's ever been afraid to say what they really thought. As Greg says, "In the end, this book should make you nod your head a lot, and laugh more. If it doesn't then you should probably seek medical help. I did. And I am the better for it!"

What the Critics Say

"Greg Gutfeld is uproariously funny and is one of my favorite guests." (Dennis Miller)

"As a rule I never read books I blurb, but I couldn't resist with this one. I even gave it to my 13-year-old son, who poured over it slack jawed all afternoon, thus warping him for life. It's that subversive and good." (Tucker Carlson)

"[Y]ou'll laugh yourself holy reading this one!" (Mike Huckabee)

"Positively Horrible... by that I mean Outstanding!"

The humor and views of Greg Gutfeld are the reason I love watching his show Red Eye on FoxNews. This book is a larger continuation of his Greg-a-logue and was well worth the listen. I also enjoyed the additional interview at the end. There's nobody that can duplicate Greg's comedic sense of humor which makes him narrating this book even more perfect. His Conservative/Libertarian views are well illustrated as he shotguns his well-thought stance on an array of topics. A GREAT BOOK!

"Gutfeld is a comedic & observational genius"
What made the experience of listening to The Bible of Unspeakable Truths the most enjoyable?

Very simply, he's funny, brutally honest and (omg) NOT a Liberal! Gutfeld says what needs to be said...the truth and he delivers it with a cartoon rubber mallet that hits hard. Honestly one of best Social/Political Commentaries I have ever read. He's not a carbon copy of an Agenda with exaggerated flourishes (a'la Bill Mahr, Jon Stewart etc...) he makes Everyone uncomfortable, Conservatives included. My advice, read this...you will laugh (regardless of your political leanings), you'll probably cringe. Hopefully Gutfeld will get the wide exposure he deserves...plain old honesty deserves a platform too.

    "He who speaks the unspeakable!"

Greg breaks out from the preconceived concepts of what a Libertarian or Conservative is. This isn’t your Dad’s political beliefs! Red Eye is the best hour on TV today and watching that show is like going to a young conservative support group -- “these people think like me! I am not alone” -- and right at the center is our man Greg, the inmate in charge of the asylum. The show balances slightly right-sided political beliefs and opinions with humor and wit. And unlike other political satire out there (you listening Comedy Central), the folks at Red Eye are not afraid to bring the other side into the debate. How refreshing is that!

Anyway, the book is a continuation of that: a series of Greg’s spot-on rants about society and what is wrong with it. His logic, while occasionally warped, is sound and his beliefs are untainted by spin and “the establishment”. If you’ve read his blogs or listened to his Gregalouges then you know what is contained in the pages. But for those of you who have never experienced Gutfeld first hand you are either in for a treat...or prepare to be revolted. Either way I am pretty sure he won’t mind. And if you disagree with me then, you sir, are worse than Hitler!

If you could sum up The Bible of Unspeakable Truths in three words, what would they be?

    Smart, Unleashed Humor

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well Greg of course...he says what we all generally think and happily justifies it with whit and obsurd connections.

What does Greg Gutfeld bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings his real humor in his voice and also in how he will sometimes just stray from the lines in the book with new insight on the subject he is discussing.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

That unicorn porn can be known as uniporn

    Any additional comments?

    "Truth in Humor"

This book will make you laugh but it's no joke. They say there's a lot truth in humor and they say that because of this book. And if you disagree with me, then you sir, are a Nazi. LOL Laugh and Learn and Learn and Laugh. This book teaches and it is funnier than any of the comedy books out there.

"Gutfeld fails to disappoint yet again."
If you could sum up The Bible of Unspeakable Truths in three words, what would they be?

    Hilarious, Fun, Outstanding

What other book might you compare The Bible of Unspeakable Truths to and why?

I really cannot find another book of comparison. I think Gutfeld is in a class all on his own in my view.

What does Greg Gutfeld bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As an avid fan of Red Eye, Greg's show that appears on Fox at o'dark thirty, his sense of humor can only come through his reading of the book. The inflections in his voice. The sarcasm. He brought the book to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was, unfortunately, my life does not allow for that to happen. So when I was traveling to and from work on the bus, I'd listen. Over lunch, between classes. Any spare moment became time to listen.

    "No bull***t, no PC"
What made the experience of listening to The Bible of Unspeakable Truths the most enjoyable?

You may not agree with everything Mr. Gutfeld says but you have to admire his unvarnished, down to earth, matter of fact, way of expressing his opinions. This is the kind of open expression we need in our country today.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bible of Unspeakable Truths?

It's all good but the forward by Penn Jillette was especially memorable because it set you up for want was to follow.

What about Greg Gutfeld’s performance did you like?

It was read by him and it had his voice so you could just picture him sitting there reading the book.

    "Great for the Road"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Bible of Unspeakable Truths to be better than the print version?

Absolutely. Having the Author narrate his own comedic novel is a must, and Gutfeld delivers fantastically.

What did you like best about this story?

    There was no story. Ha.

Which character – as performed by Greg Gutfeld – was your favorite?

He did a great Penn impression at the beginning.

    Any additional comments?

    Great read... err... listen.

"Love the "truths", but hate the repetitive humor"

I love what Gutfeld has to say about politics, life and human behavior...and I even enjoyed how he said it, for about 20 minutes. But then the repetitive use of the same comedy techniques got a bit ridiculous. After an hour of the book I was almost able to predict his next humorous comment, missing only a detail or two. It seems that Gutfeld had much more truth content than he had comedic variety. I would say that the substance of the book deserved four/maybe five stars, while the style was only a two. Don't get me wrong, the humor was funny...just way too predictable and repetitive after about an hour.

    "Annoying, Nasty Tone Ruins It"

This guy can be funny at times--though after a short time, his humor starts feeling really formulaic--but what really makes this unpleasant to listen to is the tone. It's like listening to the worst, angry, blowhard, frat-boy you can imagine.

And most of the times, he's just not 1/10 as clever or funny as he thinks he is. (An example, is repeating gag of him asking the recording engineer for some water, which, if you listen to audio books a lot, has the potential to be funny, but just turns out predictable and stupid.)
