At an age when women expect to find doors closing, forty-one-year-old Sara and her friends are all on the brink of new beginnings. For these three savvy and spirited friends, facing new options at midlife brings unexpected twists: a baby shower starring a male stripper, the latest Brazilian anti-cellulite treatment, and a day at a doggie spa that features lipo. Complications arise when a long-gone husband returns from Patagonia, a seductive ex-wife fights to win back Sara's fiance, and a hunky soap star stands waiting in the wings. But in a world where women spend their forties trying to look thirty, and girls as young as four use alpha-hydroxy to keep their skin baby smooth, these best friends help one another keep their priorities straight. Most of the time.
A fresh, funny novel about starting over, Mine Are Spectacular! will delight readers with the exploits of these irresistibly witty women. By turns touching and laugh-aloud funny, this is a must read for every woman who knows you're always the right age for new adventures.

"Mine are spectacular"
I judged this book prematurely. This book is wonderful and very entertaining. The narrator is awesome! Great book - thumbs up!
"Wonderful!"
Lately I've been in a Chick Lit phase..I've listened to quite a few! Most I would classify as OK, a few I couldn't finish at all, and a few really stood out. This one was one of those! I loved this! The story was great..From start to finish it kept my attention and I was sad to see it end.....Highly recommend...
"A little disappointing"
I loved another book I purchased by these authors and read by the same narrator. However, I was not as impressed with this book. The narrator portrayed the 7 yr old boy as a 4 yr old. The story line took an "are you kidding me?!" turn. Overall, the story seemed rather disconnected.
"This voice doesn't match the character"
I knew going in to this book that it would be about the shallow, designer label life of a 40 something New Yorker and I was perfectly ready for that. Unfortunately, this particluar reader doesn't inject the right personality into these characters. It could have been a light, funny, beach read had I grabbed the book instead. Interesting to read the reviews on Amazon to see the difference.
"FABULOUS"
So so so fab! Loved it! If you like Sex and the City- You will just Love this! SO today, so "Cool"! Funny, uplifing, inspiring, and so today!
Life long fan of the mystery story. I like books where something actually happens, so history and biography are favorites of mine also. I also think that even good books are improved tremendously when an actor performs the narration.
"Boring!"
This gets one star because the narration is excellent. This is a first person narrative of a whiny 40 year old new yorker whose "problems" are that her son is perfect, her best friend is beautiful and rich, her fiance is rich and handsome, a soap star is crazy about her, and she's not sure that she likes being blond for her new Food Network cooking series (where she flirts and cuddles up with the soap star. There are a few clever similes (more make overs than a Revlon counter), but this does not have the wit, charm, or plot of "Sex in the City" or even the "Cathy" comic strip!
"It was a fun one"
The first 15 minutes were a bit slow. I had a hard time getting to know the main character. But as the book progressed I really enjoyed here. The other characters were hilarious and I wanted to hear more about them.
But all in all it was a good light book.
"Mines Are Spectacular!"
Another "Devil Wear Prada" book. It was OK. Way Overpriced!
