With his marvelous sense of the absurd, Lewis Carroll's whimsical, fantastical tale delighted children and adults when it was first published in 1865 and has since become a treasured classic of literature.

"Don't you just LOVE Jim Dale!"
This classic children's tale with its quirky characters and imaginative action is brought to life by the absolute genius of Jim Dale's narration. I honestly think the man could make a mathematics textbook sound exciting!
So Many Books, So Little Time
"I wish I could give Jim Dale a 10!"
I'v read this story many times but when I saw that Jim Dale was narrating it I just had to buy it and listen. It was worth every penny and minute. Though the story is one of my favorites from childhood, listening to him read the story was a whole new experience. He is quite simply astonishing. Like he did in his narration of the Harry Potter books, he uses so many unique and wonderful voices that you know which character is which without being told. If you already love this book, you'll love it even more hearing him read it and if you do not know the story you are in for an incredible treat.
"Wonderful"
Jim Dale brings Lewis Carroll's characters to life as he reads through Alice's Adventures In Wonderland. Jim Dale has a different voice for every character. If you liked the book, you will love this Audiobook. Fall down into Wonderland. Get this book!
"Delightful"
Jim Dale does a beautiful read, makes Alice

"The story wouldn't be what you've expected"
I read this Alice story as a shortened book for children published by Walt Disney. Because as a child my favorite book was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, I wanted to read the original story and see what it's like. If that is your reason for getting this title as well, I guess you'll find this original, unabridged version somewhat different from your expectation.
The story is not so simple. I got the impression that Alice's adventures are a little bit meadering. There's no connection between what happens to Alice in the wonderland. Well, you may think that that's the point of this book. Why else it would be called "wonderland?"
Jim Dale's excellent performance is shown in some parts where the narrator has to sing. If a less capable person had done the narration, it would have been really awkward.
If not the story, Jim's great voice acting will be worth listening to this book.
"Jim Dale's Alice is just terrific"
I loved him in Peter Pan, I adore his rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Jim Dale has a marvelous narrator's voice, and is excellent at making and maintaining unique character voices. His voice is very comfortable to listen to and yet distinct, and is a large part of what makes the TV show "Pushing Daisies" so delightful. I know there are many versions of classic books, and I have not listened to any other Peter Pans or Alices, but I can highly recommend this version, and am thinking seriously of looking into the Harry Potter audio books, mainly because others have mentioned that Jim Dale also did those.
An old broad that enjoys books of all types. Would rather read than write reviews though. I know what I like, and won't be bothered by crap.
"Alice is a gem!"
Can't say, because the drawings in the print version have always meant so much to me. I did like the audible version and was able to listen all the way in one sitting, so that was an improvement for me. Loved them both in different ways.
I love the poems and the Mad Tea Party the best!
The Mad Duchess was hilarious, as were several others including the White Rabbit and the March Hare.
Off with their heads!
I think everyone is familiar with the story. My only comment is I missed Alice being read by a woman with a British accent. Mr. Dale was fine for all the other characters though!
"Truly surreal"
There are many versions of Lewis Carroll's novel and this version was not one I would recommend for children. While Jim Dale is a wonderful reader/narrator it did not quite match the surreal quality of the writing.
"Classic"
I never really read this as a child, but of course know the movie well. This is a relatively short listen and I was interested to see how closely the movies match the book. I always enjoy listening to Jim Dale. He is good at evoking whimsy.
"You can't go wrong with this!"
I am a fan of Jim Dale and have loved Alice's story since I was little. You really can't go wrong with this!
