"Great book, choppy reading"
I'm a big fan or Morrell and I loved this book, but the production on this audio version is pretty sub-par. The narrator's voice goes really fast, as if the speed on the tape was increased. This makes it difficult to understand some of the words and the listener can end up confused on some character and plot points simply because it goes too fast to process.

"Strong story, a tad long"
Worth a credit. Warning: the book is more than 20 years old and feels a bit dated.
I prefer single readers to casts, but the story itself is strong and held my attention most of the way. I did feel, however, that it began to grow a bit predictable and I was ready for the story to wind up about 45 minutes before it actually did.
I did not find the reading too clipped or fast. I'll read more Morrell after this one.4 of 4 people found this review helpful -
"Good story, mediocre narration"
Any additional comments?I have been a fan of David Morrell's books for years and was excited to see this one come to Audible. It is one of my original favorites. The downside is the narration, it is too fast and at times choppy and unclear. It can be hard to follow and I find that despite knowing the story, I occasionally get lost. It is still a good book and a good choice, you just have to get past the less than desirable narration.
