But even in this quiet, peaceful place, Nell never feels entirely at ease. Careful to conceal her true identity, she takes a job as a cook at the local bookstore café - and begins to explore her feelings for the island sheriff, Zack Todd.
But there is a part of herself she can never reveal to him - for she must continue to guard her secrets if she wants to keep the past at bay. One careless word, one misplaced confidence, and the new life she's so carefully created could shatter completely.
Just as Nell starts to wonder if she'll ever be able to break free of her fear, she realizes that the island suffers from a terrible curse - one that can only be broken by the descendants of the Three Sisters, the witches who settled the island back in 1692.
Now, with the help of two other strong, gifted women - and the nightmares of the past haunting her every step - she must find the power to save her home, her love...and herself.

"Once again, Roberts proves that she's a top-notch romance writer. This enchanting and empowering tale is...terrifically entertaining." (Booklist)
"A magnetic hero, a heroine who finds herself, and some memorable secondary characters weave a mesmerizing tale of witchcraft and magic." (Library Journal)
"Great fusion of the modern world and mythical."
The first book got me hooked! Entertaining with every chapter and at the end of it all, the audiobook doesn't leave you hanging on a cliff! But it did make me get the rest of the trilogy.
The reading was great too, loved the pace, fast when required other wise slow and calm. I enjoyed it hope you will too!
"Really Good Writer....."
I don't where I was but I am just discovering Nora Roberts. I am finding I like her writing alot. This is such a good story...suspenseful...and the mystery is good. The narrator did a great job on all the voices. Thank you Nora Roberts and Audible.
"Good Romance, Not So Good Narration"
Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I was not impressed with the narrator. She reads well, but her character voices are honestly terrible. Of the three lead women in their 20s, one sounds like a little girl, another like an old lady, and the third has a nasally voice that borders on whiny. The love interest of the main character has a wooden tone with no inflection in it whatsoever, and the few other men in the book all have the exact same voice. Listen to the sample for a long time before you decide to buy this one. However, the book itself is a good romantic fantasy, and after awhile, the story was strong enough to overshadow the weak narration.
I read so I can write
""I'm in love with a witch""
What a cool guy who can say simply "I'm in love with a witch". A guy like that has to be one you know you can trust to handle anything.
This is an excellent story of a woman who overcomes an abusive relationship and the guy who helps her.
Of course, there is also a typically well developed Nora Roberts mystery intertwined into their romance.
Good job Nora.
"First in the Sisters trilogy!"
I loved this book. The reader kept my attention and was believable enough that the characters came to life. I found myself picturing it like a movie in my head, probably not a good idea while driving!ha! I look forward to the next book in the trilogy!
"Three Sisters Island Trilogy"
As always, Nora Roberts tells a great story. The narration of the voices are done very well and it is easy to tell the different charaters apart. You are hanging on the edge of the seat - the entire triology is fabulous.
"Enjoyable escape"
Nice read. Nora Roberts does a good job on developing the story. Good escape story.
"Lets stand together!"
Nell makes you want to get out there and stand up for a cause - the book makes you want to move to a little island and find the solitude and friendlyness that might be waiting for you.
Having read this and the 2 others in the trilogy you feel as if becoming more in tune with nature and it's elements is something you really need to be doing - if only we could escape to this!
very well written and extremely well read! catches you from the word go!
"Horrible Narrator"
Don't really know if I could have enjoyed the story as I didn't get past the first 45 minutes. I just couldn't handle the narrator's voice anymore. I will never buy another book narrated by Sandra Burr.
