On the heels of Kitty's return from London, a new werewolf shows up in Denver, one who threatens to split the pack by challenging Kitty's authority at every turn. The timing could not be worse; Kitty needs all the allies she can muster to go up against the ancient vampire, Roman, if she's to have any hope of defeating his Long Game. But there's more to this intruder than there seems, and Kitty must uncover the truth-fast. Meanwhile, Cormac pursues an unknown entity wreaking havoc across Denver. And a vampire from the Order of St. Lazaurus tempts Rick with the means to transform his life forever.

"Worst Book in a Wonderful Series"
Probably not, well I probably will right before the next book comes out to refresh my memory. But I have read the other books a few times for the thrill of it.
I did like the part about Kitty's role as alpha being challenged. But it wasn't as exciting as I thought it may of been. The least interesting was the priest vampire. There just wasn't enough focus on any of the many things happening in this book.
Marguerite Gavin is a dream narrator. She is awesome. Between her reading the Kitty Norville books and the Rachel Morgan 'Hollows" books, she has become my favorite narrator ever. In the 100's of audio books I've listened to Marguerite Gavin, Johanna Parker and Lorelei King, Luke Daniels, Amanda Ronconi and Sean Runnette are my favorites.I have chosen books only because they were doing the reading. A great narrator can make a bad book more interesting. just like a bad narrator can ruin even the best books. But match up an awesome book with a fabulous narrator and it's an audio book listeners dream.
Yes, but for the wrong reasons. Usually if I listen to a book non-stop it's because it's so intriguing that you just don't want to put it down. This time I just kept waiting for something to happen and basically I wanted to get it over with. There were 3 other books released that week that I was excited about, that just wanted to get to one of those. Kitty Rocks the House was the one I was most excited about though.
I LOVE this series, it's one of my favorites. But I'm sick to death of this Roman, Long Game story line, get on with it already. There's been so much build up it better be worth the wait. Kitty seemed to be in a funk the whole time, which if you read the other books you know that her humor and energy are the best parts of Kitty. It had a lot of good parts, but it seemed that so much was going on that there wasn't enough focus on any of the plot points. So I didn't hate the book, but I was truly disappointed in this installment of the series.
"What a bore!"
I am usually a Kitty Norville fan but I have become increasingly disappointed with the series. There was not a lot original here to add to the plot line. Long Game. . .blah, blah, blah. I basically listened to the first two chapters then skipped to the middle for a chapter and then listened to the last chapter. In a nutshell, with fast forward the whole book took me less than 2 hours to get through and I don't feel like I missed a thing. Moreover, I'm disgusted that Carrie Vaughn has decided to base future books on a religious war. How cliche! In conclusion, all I have to say is "Bye, bye Kitty Norville!"
"Kitty the werewolf!"
This a fun series. It deals with race relations between vampires, humans and werewolves. Kitty is radio talk show host who uses her platform to enlighten others. She has a real sense of justice and honor that always gets her in trouble with the bad guys. There are some memorable, lovable, characters here that will really strike a chord with you. The narration is great. It is fun light entertainment.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
"Kitty Does It Again!!!"
It was familiar, and I just love Kitty as a MC...and the narration by Marguerite Gavin was awesome as always!!!
I love Kitty, she is very down to earth and believable...
EVERYTHING!!! She is one of my favorite narrators...great character development and believable voices!!!
Same as the title....
I very much enjoyed this story, and hope there is more to come in Kitty and Bens adventures....this is one of my favorite series...LOVED IT!!!
Love Star Trek
"Kitty finds herself again!"
Although nothing major in the ongoing war has happened, I feel this book gave a good start to the next direction the series is going and prepared Kitty for it.
I love books filled with action, but that doesn't mean I love upheaval and spectacular stuff all the time. This series is nice in a sense it is not the "end of the world" again and again. Yes the Big Bad is looming on the horizon but people are people and they have lives. This book reminds you of that. Kitty sees the big picture and she has been pursuing that for a while. On the other side the little things like finding a house, doing a wacky radio show and keeping up with the pack and her family have been a bit neglected. Those thing all catch her unaware literally in this book. I love that she is able to talk it out mostly and that Ben is the foundation she relies on.
Outworldly nothing "major" like a battle happen but internally Kitty was able to reconfirm what makes her herself and that I think is pretty major.
I was sad at the end but optimistic everything will work out as it should in the near future. Looking forward to reading more.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
"Great addition to the series :D"
I enjoyed Kitty Rocks the House very much. I love the series and this is a great addition.
The fight with Roman and the End game is part of the story but not a major plot line in this book. A good bit cycles around the issues Kitty and Ben have to deal with (esp after being in London for a while in the last book). There are many things to deal with, the main one being a new werewolf that asks to join Kitty's pack but ends up causing a trouble. But there's also family issues to deal with, both Kitty's and Ben's. Then there's the complication of a Vampire Priest coming in to town trying to get Rick to join their sect and leave Colorado.
And that's not even all that's going on... Needless to say Kitty and Ben's plate are full in the book. Some people may say that the book didn't go anywhere because the fight with Roman wasn't forefront but I felt it was needed to get some of the sub-plots in line (so to speak) and get us ready for more big action to come. There was just so much going on that I couldn't feel it lacking. :D I hope the next book comes out soon because the ending kinda blew my mind; I hate cliffhangers but the book was still great. I'd recommend it. 2 Thumbs up. :)
