Kill Alex Cross was "Patterson at the top of his game" (Washington Post). Alex Cross, Run, the 20th book in the Alex Cross series, is even better.
Don't look, Alex Cross.
Top plastic surgeon Elijah Creem is renowned for his skills in the operating room, and for his wild, no-expense-spared "industry parties", bringing in underage exotic dancers and models for nights of drugs, champagne, and uninhibited sex. That is, until Detective Alex Cross busts one of Creem's lavish soirees and ruins his fun. Now Creem is willing to do anything to avoid going to jail.
Don't think, Alex Cross.
But Alex doesn't have time to dwell on that case. A beautiful woman has been found murdered in her car, a lock of her hair viciously ripped off. Then a second woman is found hanging from a sixth-floor window with a brutal scar slashed across her stomach. When a third mutilated body is discovered, rumors of three serial killers on the loose send Washington D.C. into an all-out frenzy.
Just run.
Alex is under so much pressure to solve these three grim cases that he hasn't noticed that someone else investigating him - someone so obsessed and so twisted that they'll do anything - ANYTHING - to get the vengeance they require. Alex Cross, Run is James Patterson's most unrelenting story yet - a white-hot, sensational thrill ride with the most extreme and gripping characters Patterson has ever brought to life.

"Patterson and Cross Score Another Killer Hit"
Not all installments in the Alex Cross series are created equal. 'Alex Cross, Run' ranks as one of the very best, in my book. The fine old story formula is here, well executed, involving clever, creative bad guys, and involving the Cross family in just the right amounts. A great performance by Boatman and Boyer, too. All in all, a very nice recovery from the horrendous movie experience with nonactor crossdresser Tyler Perry last year.
"Finally a book without stacks of F bombs!"
It definitely kept my attention, holding my breath as he was being set up by the bad guy with a grudge.
The good people resolution.
The inclusion of softer feelings, morals
along with the contrasting very, very bad people.
NA
Yes. I couldn't but I kept it on much longer than I should.
I'm just grateful to find an author who can leave out the F bombs which are very degrading to me as the listener. I realize that this would be included in people' regular on the job speech, but I'm glad someone doesn't use it.
"Ugh!"
James Patterson has parlayed what used to be a great reputation as a good mystery writer into an industry to generate money based on his name. His legacy will be that of a writer who created a business based on a talent that never came to bloom. What a shame. I will not buy another one of his books because they are a watered down waste of time. His latest novels sound like they were written by college or high school students who have not yet learned their craft.

"Another solid Alex Cross story"
I think I've read all of the books in the Alex Cross series and this 20th book in the series didn't disappoint. Fast moving, held my interest and enhanced my daily commute. Not a blockbuster, and not as good as some of the previous books in the series but still a good solid listen. If you haven't read anything else in the series, I recommend you start at the beginning with Along Came a Spider.
"Excellent book"
I really enjoyed all of the Alex cross books this one was very emotional to me. I don't think you will be disappointed by buying this book or listening to it either.
When John came to the door with the locket to tell Alex they found Ava.
I like hearing the different characters tell the the two parts of the story it's easier to follow along.
Yes the part about the foster child Ava and her drug problems because that touches our 14 year olds today.
This is a must purchase!!!!
"Great Book Keeps you on the edge of your seat"
Great Narrator, book keep you guessing and love the writer
Yes very much so
All Characters were good not just one was my favorite
No laughing or crying
Love The book
"I listended to it"
Its a good book but, I listened to it... but I'm starting to think patterson needs to slow down on turning out the books and put more time in to the stroy
"A page turner for sure"
I always recommend James Patterson's Books
He describes his characters vividly
the feeling and excitement. and malice of the characters
It made me mad as double ll's! Because I wanted the 16 year old adopted girl to live and become a family member.
But still a awesome book.
Tell us about yourself!
"Ho Hum................"
The story moved along at a good pace, but I felt as though Patterson thought the more plots, sub plots and another plot he could shove into one story the better it would be. There is no thought process, just a typical crime - good guy get the bad guy. This is about as basic as you can get and proof that money means more than a well written book and that James will continue to crank these out like eggs in a chicken factory. It will be a long while before I buy another Patterson book.
I walk 7 miles a day and listen to about 3 audiobooks a week.
"What happend to James Patterson"
It is boring and a two year old can figure out the plot. No surprise!
I do like the Alex Cross character.
No not really
yes but it would be quite dull.
James Patterson needs to put more plot and twist to his books of late. He is getting very dull very fast.
