"The fast-paced, well-planned plot will keep readers hooked. Caitlyn and Reid are intriguing, multidimensional characters who are easy to identify with, and the relationship that develops between them folds nicely into the suspense." (RT Book Reviews)
"Terrific for a car drive! Wonderful narrator!"
Classic Entertaining Suspense
I loved the suspense and the fast pace. It is certainly a formulaic mystery and I wasn't wholly surprised by the twists. (I won't spoil by giving details.) But things happen so quickly and there isn't time to get too far ahead of the plot.
I really really liked this narrator and am surprised another review made such a point to say they disliked her. (Remind them of someone?)
For me, she gave life to the book and the characters which would otherwise have been a little two dimensional.
The author throws a romance in for the protagonists that doesn't work for me. But I appreciated her attempt to give depth to these wounded people. Again, I think the narratotion helped me care more than I would have.
I got a kick out of the reporter. I won't give more than that because there are so many ways to spoil the suspense!
It's hard to write a review of this without giving it away. So I'll just say that it's fun and not too taxing. Good for a road trip...
"Almost a 4 star - but too many dumb moments"
It was o.k. I have now read all three of the books in this series - my 2 quibbles are the lack of real passion between the main characters - or - the believability of it. And in all three of these books the leading female character has 2 or three instances of completely too stupid to live moments where she puts herself in danger after significant threats have already been made. I find that a very annoying trait in someone who should have more sense.
Smarter moves by the leading lady please...
"Great Story. Poor Narrator."
No. The narrator made it very difficult to finish this book. The only reason I finished was the story.
The growing attraction between Kaitlin and Reed.
Yes.
I would not recommend a film for this book.
Do no use this narrator again!
