The Anatomy of Leadership, Volume 1: Leadership, or the Lack Thereof: The Comprehensive Series

It is SO hard to find books (or a series of books in this case) on leadership that *actually* provide a practical study for would-be leaders. Anyone who's read 1 or 2 or 20 books on leadership knows they're usually more of a "How I did it" book than anything else - like its more about the author than the student.

In contrast, this book is one that ANYONE will benefit from reading. It's easy enough to follow for new would-be leaders, but with so much practical depth to it, that even highly experienced leaders will find plenty to take away from it!

I loved how they combined real life examples from such a wide selection of historical leaders, from all sorts of contexts. And then how they followed those up with practical lists of points for the reader/listener to take away!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This author should have been given a 1 hour time limit. There was a small amount of useful, practical information lost within hours of aimless meandering through one thought after another. I was looking for practical leadership instruction and advice, but found vague ramblings in which the author seemed to enjoy hearing himself speak.

Start with a better outline, pair it down to the bare minimum, and stick to the outline. The authors need to remeber their audience - business leaders who have hectic, busy schedules. These people don't have time for hour upon hour of mindless babble. They want facts, figures, ideas and advice, communicated clearly and succinctly. That you will not find in this book - and this is only Volume1!
