Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!

"Still breaks my heart..."
If you could sum up Petals on the Wind in three words, what would they be?revenge, greed, sadness...
Who was your favorite character and why?Cathy of course....its her story....but all the characters are noteworthy...
Which character – as performed by Alyssa Bresnahan – was your favorite?I like them all...and sometimes hate them all too...
If you could take any character from Petals on the Wind out to dinner, who would it be and why?This is a strange question... Considering the book, it is hard to choose....
Any additional comments?I wish Audible had the rest of this series...I think many people should hear this story, and count there blessings everyday...

"Awesome revenge"
What made the experience of listening to Petals on the Wind the most enjoyable?Audible format takes these books and makes them more enjoyable. Books don't have tones or attitudes in them like a book being read. You feel a real connect to the situation they are living. You get a better understanding of how and why they do the things they do. You can feel how their relationships really are.
What other book might you compare Petals on the Wind to and why?Anything that V.C. Andrews wrote her self.
Have you listened to any of Alyssa Bresnahan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?I have not. Although she does a great job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?This book made me cry several times. It tears your heart out. You feel their pain.
Any additional comments?Again I would love it, if they continued to convert her older books to Audible format.

"Great book to listen to"
What did you love best about Petals on the Wind?It was very entertaining and the narration was great.
Who was your favorite character and why?Cathy because she is the main character and it is her story.
What about Alyssa Bresnahan’s performance did you like?I enjoyed the narration.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?I would always be late to things because I didn't want to stop listening because it was very intense.
Any additional comments?I wish Audible had the 3rd and 4th books. I don't have much time to read so I listen in my car and it would be nice to be able to continue the series.

"Too weird for me"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?Anyone able to deal with incestuous and "lolita-like" relationships.
Has Petals on the Wind turned you off from other books in this genre?Yes. Book description does not adequately address content. Thought I was purchasing a mystery thriller.
Did Alyssa Bresnahan do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?Yes. I do enjoy Ms Bresnehan's narrations. She is adept at projecting varied tone qualities for individual characters.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Petals on the Wind?Way too many. It would end up a short story.
Any additional comments?Mysteries and thrillers are my preferred listening genre. I try to avoid thin writing infused with gratuitous sex and/or extraneous filler. I blew it on this selection.

"long, disappointing"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?Shorter...could have told the story just as effectively in many fewer chapters. I just could not enjoy it knowing about it ending in the incestuous relationship it did. I loved flowers in the attic, but this was a real disappointment.

How could the performance have been better?The narrator did a good job considering the material.

"VC Andrews Work Continued...Great Performance!"
This is the continuation of Flowers in the Attic. It is very well read and allows you to really connect with the story. I just wish all the books in this series were available. If you like the old style VC Andrews, this is a book for you.

"A phenomenal story. Great closure.."
What did you love best about Petals on the Wind?It was narrated in the familiar voice of the original Kathy. It was very believable and touching.
What about Alyssa Bresnahan’s performance did you like?She was very engaging
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?It made me cry in empathy mostly for Carrie who lost so much.
Any additional comments?I would recommend it to everyone who watched or read The Flowers In The Attic.

"Excellent continued story"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?yes - it is just a very good story that is finishes the previous book Flowers in the Attic.
Which character – as performed by Alyssa Bresnahan – was your favorite?cathy since it is here story
Who was the most memorable character of Petals on the Wind and why?cathy - I love the way she was always thinking on what to do next - she was a planner and not forgiving.
Any additional comments?A must listen to but you need to listen to Flowers in the Attic first.

"Cathy's Vengence"
When I first read this book (like most people) I was in the 8th grarde and it was a very powerful influence in my life. I learned how to use my sexuality to my advantage. So when I saw the book on audio I thought I would give it a try. The narrator did a fine job, but what I found that what I thought was so good in the 8th grade, just seemed a little silly now that I am an adult woman. It still affected me the same way as far as the storyline but what I now couldn't now comprehend is how Corrine could do what she did, but once again it is a story of fiction. I didn't like they way Chris and Cathy could now live as husband and wife in the end and I don't like the way Chris and Cathy couldnt get past this part of their lives. I did like the fact that Cathy did get vengence against her mother. I did like the fact that I could now google V.C. Andrews and find out how she got the idea for her series. Unfortunatly they didn't finish the series on audio!!!! So here I go to the thrift stores to find If There Be Thorns book.
