Publisher's Summary

Envy's life was great. Great brother, great boyfriend, and the best job a girl could ask for... tending bar at the most popular clubs in the city. At least it was great until she got a call from one of her best friends about her boyfriend doing the vertical limbo on the dance floor at Moon Dance. Her decision to confront him begins a chain of events that will introduce her to a dangerous paranormal world hidden beneath the everyday humdrum. A world where people can transform into jaguars, real life vampires roam the streets, and fallen angels walk among us.

Devon is a werejaguar, a little rough around the edges and one of the joint owners of Moon Dance. His world is tilted on its axis when he spies an alluring vixen with red hair dancing in his club, armed with a cynical heart and a taser. With a vampire war raging around them, Devon vows to make this woman his... and will fight like hell to have her.

"Droning narrator & bad audio, distracts from story"

The flat, droning voice of the narrator plus repetitive music pauses were so distracting, that it was an effort to complete this book. The first part of the book was particularly bad.
The story was ok, but hard to get engaged in with clunky, inappropriate, repetitive music being played for major pauses. It could be improved by removing these!

Only for diehard fans of the genre wanting to start a new series.

    "Terrible narration"

I think I was probably spoiled after just finishing the Chess Putnum series by Stacia Kane, but this book was just ok, and the narration was totally irritating. I almost couldn't bear to finish listening and I don't know what was with the strange piano music between chapters. It didn't add drama, it was annoying. I won't be purchasing and of the rest of these and I think they might be more palatable if I read them. There seemed to be too much irrelevant information and no real depth to the characters or the story. Don't waste a credit.

"Don't listen, read it if you must"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this audiobook mainly because the narrator could not pronounce some frequently used words correctly. I spent most of the book cringing at and focusing on the painful mispronunciations, and the story was not interesting enough to distract me from it. As for the story itself, it felt like a lot of improbable leaps were made without explanation. I was so busy wondering how it got from point A to D that I couldn't get into it.

How could the performance have been better?

Better narrator was needed for sure, or at least someone to tell her how to pronounce the words. This particular story would also be much improved if additional details were added to flesh out the story.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I should not have bothered to listen to the end, I feel like it was a waste of time.

I believe I would have really enjoyed this series if not foe
R tha narrator and her irritatingly screechy voice and inability to pronounce words like Jaguar. If a book is about said animal one would think the narrator would learn the correct pronunciation.

"Terrible Narration, Horrible Music at Major Pauses"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better narrator and leave out that terrible music. I hate that I purchased the book and am unable to listen to it.

What was most disappointing about Amy Blankenship and R. K. Melton ’s story?

I couldn't say. Becauase of the bad, boring, unprofessional narration and that horrid music at major pauses, I could not get into the story.

How could the performance have been better?

If someone else did the narriation like Hilary Huber or Tavia Gilbert

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

None. Could not get into the book because the narrator made it so boring.

    Any additional comments?

I was excited to start this series and planned to purchase all of the audiobooks. I am so glad I decided to try the first book before purchasing the others.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have removed the music that played at certain intervals in the book. It was very aggravating.

    Any additional comments?

I will probably listen to the rest of the series because I am kinda interested in the other brothers that were in the story. I hope that the rest of the series doesn't include the music. I hope I can find it at my library and download it for free, because I'm pretty sure it won't be worth the money or my credit, unless I can catch them on sale.

    "Story was ok"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story of the book was good but the girl reading it was horrible. I would also remove the music that played, it got really annoying.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was alright nothing that would drag me back to listen to the 2nd book even though I am going to continue to see if it gets better.

Would you be willing to try another one of K. B. Stanford’s performances?

I am going to give book 2 a try to see if it gets better.

Could you see Moon Dance being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Overall the book was decent. I would change who reads it and I would remvoe the music.

"Boring narrator makes an ok story super boring."

Wow! Boring boring boring. This is a weak book in the urban fantasy genre. Chock-full of cliches, I couldn't find myself liking any of the characters. More often than not, I found myself thinking they deserved all their angst. They have no depth, they all come across like wannabe actors in some C grade movie. I'm halfway through the audiobook and I can't stand K.B. Stanford's nasal, boring, characterless narration anymore. The woman makes some of hottest sex scenes sound boring. And her pronunciation is abysmal. A jaguar is not pronounced jagwire! I'm done with this one.I still want to know how the story ends, I'll look for the book in print.

    "Boring Narrator and Creepy Music"

I love the story and will definitely continue on with the series, but I'm seriously praying they find a new narrator. She doesn't even bother to try to use different voices for different characters. Everyone sounded the same. Probably the worst narrator I've heard to date. The other negative is the creepy music every five minutes. It added absolutely no value to the story and irked me to no end.

Despite the third grade story reading and bad music I was quickly pulled into the story. Dev and Envy are so hot together I had to get out a fan. Beyond that I loved all the other characters smoothly brought into the story and look forward to seeing how the series progresses.

If they find a better narrator and ditch the bad music I think I'm really going to like this series.
