    "Elm Creek 25 Years Later"
If you could sum up The Wedding Quilt in three words, what would they be?

    Family, Quilters, Bonding

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sarah for her quiet strength. Her love for her family and friends.

Have you listened to any of Christina Moore???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only in the Elm Creek series. Christina Moore does an excellent job of bringing each character to life. I feel like I am listening to an old friend telling me a story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the beginning, I was surprised and sad to have the book start out 25 years later as in 2028. Sarah and Matt???s twins are now grown. One is working at Elm Creek and the other one is getting married and going to medical school. Sarah has become a well-known author on the history of quilts and proprietress of Elm Creek.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to all Elm Creek readers.
In Jennifer???s style of storytelling, she merges past and present. Throughout the book, Sarah reminisces about past events as she welcomes family and friends back to Elm Creek in preparation for the wedding. There???s more than one wedding being celebrated in this book.
I learned about Sylvia getting more information on her Cousin Elizabeth???s family, and what Bonnie decided to do after she came back from Hawaii. I caught up with Gwen and Summer along with Diane???s family. I heard more about the new members - Anne and Maggie. I even learned more about the Civil War quilters and their Union Hall. I would have liked to have heard more about Gretchen and her husband along with Andrew. They are mentioned, but not as much as the others.
Halfway through I began to wonder if this was the last of the Elm Creek series. It sort of felt like the end since a lot of unfinished stories were being given an ending, but Jennifer has confirmed there will be more Elm Creek books in the future.

    "Thoroughly enjoyed!"

I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author viewed the future. Very realistic, a few expected advancements but not 'sci-fi-ish' the way some authors seem to be unable to resist.

This seems a normal continuation of the Elm Creek Quilters' lives. Aging, death, illness, marriage, new jobs, moving around. The circle of life.

    Great story and great reading!

    "Comfort Book"

Since I'm reading all of the Elm Creek Books, it's like coming back to a familiar zone and meeting up with old friends. Even the switching back and forth in time is done in such a way that I know which time frame she's in. It's a good read - not really exciting, but still very good. The kind of book I need when I want to escape the stress of real life.

    "Disappointed"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Disappointed that Chiaverini chose to use what should have been a wonderful celebration to make political statements....The characters didn't grow in this addition to the wonderful series.

Has The Wedding Quilt turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I loved all of the other books in this series and really looked forward to this one, but if the next one is like this, I will be finished.

Would you listen to The Wedding Quilt again? Why?

Yes, this book is wonderful. I like the way she works the past, present, and future. There is something that you missed the first time I listened to it.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way she brought the twins into the book, and get them all grown up and married.

Have you listened to any of Christina Moore???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Christine Moore's performances are wonderful. I love when I get a book and Christine is narrating the book. Here exprescence in her voice draw you into the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

"Fast Forward from the last book"

I was quite surprised at the way this book was written. I was expecting a continuation of the story of the characters that Jennifer has created, but instead she went "fast forward" about 20 some years! Then she used reflections backward to fill in the story of what has happened in the lives of each of her characters. I enjoyed it very much, but certainly would recommend that anyone reading it be sure to read previous books first, or they might have a difficult time figuring out all of the connections.

    "The Wedding Quilt"

I love the Elm Creekl Quilt Series, and really enjoyed this book, but it was not quite what I expected. I was a little confused in the beginning, but caught on pretty quickly. I love the characters in the series, and missed a few details that I would have liked to have had, but am hopeful she will provide more in future books.

"A Whole Series About The Relationships Among Women"

So many wonderful things about this series, and this book is as good as all the rest. The series follows a group of people from the same area of Pennsylvania from the civil war through present day. Such love and joy and some sorrow, create memorable stories that stay with you for a long time. They are in my library to listen to again. The same narrator reads all the books, and she is terrific.
