"Not Just for Girls!"
My 4-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son adore this series, as do I. My son especially is fully engaged when we play these books. The reader is excellent. I have found many of my favorite books from childhood fall flat when I try to introduce my kids to them through the audio format. The British accents that I find so charming leave my children frustrated and unable to follow the story. Some American readers talk too fast -- Stockard Channing who reads the Ramona series that I so adored as a child leaves my kids cold. And I just can't bear other readers, e.g., Mary Pope Osbourne. Ms. Morris is amazing. I'd like to hear more from her in the children's genre. She's every bit as good as my other favorite reader, Neil Patrick Harris, who does such a fantastic job with Beverly Cleary's Ribsy series.
