Publisher's Summary

It’s all about the blood…. Comprised of three novellas, Blood Lust gives listeners a snapshot look at the world of the Preternaturals Series. (Future installments of the series will be novels.)

KEPT: As a cat therian (shifter), Greta’s blood is already sought after to enhance spells and potions, but due to a quirk of her birth, her blood is potent enough to kill for. When her tribe plans to sacrifice her, Greta must ally herself with Dayne, the dangerous local sorcerer, and the only person strong enough to protect her.

CLAIMED: For a vampire, Anthony isn’t a picky eater, but he’s drawn to Charlee’s blood more than any other. Like a fine wine saved for a special occasion, he’s denied himself this pleasure. But one night, high from the potent magical blood of another, he claims his prize and loses control. Ashamed of almost killing the one woman who means anything to him, he wipes her memory of the event. When Charlee awakens with complete amnesia, Anthony is the only one who can clean up the mess he’s made.

MATED: Because of the vampiric blood that has run through her veins since birth, Jane has been a target for vampires who resent a human being “kindred”. She’s forced to disguise herself as a vampire groupie to appease them and safeguard her life. When she’s abruptly given to Cole, the leader of the werewolf pack, to satisfy a gambling debt, she discovers the blood running through her veins has a far greater impact on her destiny than she ever imagined.

    "Yummy!!!"

This is my first review of any audiobook. I found this author, Zoe Winters, wove the three novellas in Blood Lust very successfully. The writing and characters in each novella pulls you into the story. It helps immensely when you have the right narrator in this case-Chet Williamson- to set the pace. His voice lends the perfect balance to not only the female characters (not whiny or nasal), but excells with the male characters (deep voiced, dark and hypnotic). The fact that these deal with preternatural characters just ramps up the 'yummy' factor- shapeshifters(Therian), sorcerors, vampires and werewolves.
In each novella-Kept, Claimed and Mated- the stories while seperate were connected by intersecting characters from each one and expanding their own evolution of their romances. Greta and her friend Charlie (Charlotte) in Kept led to Charlie befriending Jane in Claimed which led to Jane's story in Mated. Their respective lovers, Dayne in Kept needed help from Anthony whose story continued in Claimed introduced Paul who traded Jane to Cole and their story continued in Mated.
The stories kept me involved. None of the characters were over the top or corny. The heroes had the right amount of inate protective instincts with strong senses of responsibilities-with a 'bad boy'rep. What's not to love? The women were strong, although I did find that Jane was more of a survivor than Greta or Charlie. I didn't like her at first -but she showed more dept in her character than the others. Can't wait for more stories from this author! Glad that I purchased this on a whim!

"Three Novellas for the price of One!"

Blood Lust is a fun listen. There are 3 separate novellas, Kept, Claimed, and Mated. Each story revolves around a different paranormal theme. Yet the author ties them together seamlessly.
Ms. Winters is a talented writer and I hope Audible will soon be adding more of her books to their collection.

Also, Chet Williamson does a really great job as the narrator.

    "Loved it"

I was pleasently surprised by this book. Publishing rights limit the urban fantasy titles available in Australia and I've consequentially suffered through more than few disasters. With some trepidation I decided to give this unfamilar author a try and I'm glad I did. The short stories maintained a good balance between fantasy/romance and avoided being either too dark or too soppy. Definetly worth a listen.

    "Not impressed"

The narrator's talent and voice was enjoyable yet, in my opinion, not suited to the material. I found all 3 stories choppy and just not engaging. I found my attention wandering. The world created in these stories just fell flat for me. I don't believe I will try this author again.

"If you haven't read this, you really should!"
Would you listen to Blood Lust again? Why?

Absolutely! It's an awesome read, and has gotten me hooked on Paranormal Romance.

What does Chet Williamson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's an excellent narrator, and helps the characters come alive even more so than they would if I was reading the book without his narration.

    Any additional comments?

The book had me hooked from the start, and I look forward to enjoying more of Zoe Winters' work.
