Meriel grows up in England a tomboy, helping her beloved grandfather with DIY. At school she discovers a talent and loves for art, but her mother forces her to become an accountant. She’s good at that, too, but her heart isn’t in it. Ben and his wife have a dream of designing a country retreat, but when she’s killed in an accident, he’s left to struggle on alone. After her grandpa dies, Meriel immigrates to Australia, where she meets Ben. They are very different characters, but when circumstances force them to share a house, they can no longer deny the attraction. There are many obstacles to overcome, but can Ben and Meriel ultimately find a way to unite their dreams?

"Wonderfully enjoyable story."
Good characters, strong male and female characters. Wide range of character types, as well. Lovely ending. Interesting from start to finish.
I enjoy mysteries, NOT thrillers, contemporary fiction, especially about diverse cultures, and sometimes history, if it doesn't involve too many dates. I often listen to a book multiple times, discovering unnoticed details in the retelling.
