"incredible, but why only an abridged version?"
practical, helpful, informative
Through examples and practical suggestions, the reader learns how to break down their anxiety into manageable pieces. This mmulti-step process of asking oneself questions and using the answers to reduce one's anxiety allows the reader to realize (in their own time) that their fears are generally disproportionate and can be managed if the right tools are used.
His tone is much more compassionate than I would be if I read the story to myself. He also has a way of conveying the tips and suggestions in the story so that they sound perfectly reasonable, logical and doable even for the most anxious of readers.
I'll definitely be using the suggestions the book provides.
The only irritating thing is that at the end of the book, it's suggested that I buy the full copy if I enjoyed the abridged version. As I can't read print, there isn't a way for me to buy this version. Why not just record a full version of the book? Surely there's nothing contained therein that can't be modified for a listener rather than a reader.
