The Dark Worlds of H. P. Lovecraft, Volume Six

Mr Wayne June is a Storyteller. Not a narrator. Thats what separates his narrations from every other voice on the market. His voice mixed with Lovecrafts writing is a match that was obviously meant to be.
If Lovecraft knew that wayne june was the narrator, he would not have died...he would have kept on living just so he can hear his stories told by June.

I own the entire series....But this is the only one i bought on audible, so i will have to rate all of them in one....I suggest you get these books, but be fore warned. ...wayne junes voice pulls you in, and it literally scares the hell out of me. When he wants you to feel sympathy you will. But, when he wants you to be afraid, you will be. Very Afraid.

If you're a horror buff, you will love the way the narrator handles Lovecraft's descriptive style of writing. The characters do not all sound alike, (like in a lot of audio books)..

Out of all the audiobooks i own, and i own about 60, the only ones i go back to are the ones that are narrated my wayne june.
You have to get his Poe books too......another fav of mine .

This is by far one of the best audio books I've had the pleasure to listen to.

The whole novel is one slowly rising epic tale; shock after shock of revealed cosmic horrific truth about man's place in the universe.

Wayne June performs all with dramatic perfection. Even the the ultimate ravings of a man who has seen that which should not be!

At the Mountains Of Madness - as the whole volume is the reading of this epic novel.

H. P. Lovecraft was a genius. His horror tales changed all modern horror fiction that came afterward, and you can see how many modern stories and movies have their roots in this important epic tale of cosmic terror. Lovecraft's vast knowledge shows in this book, making the book, at times a difficult read... especially for a teenager - as I was when I first found this wonderful book. However, having it read to you, by a professional story teller like Wayne June is a extreme thrill not to be missed.

"At the Mountains of Madness" is easily one of Lovecraft's best stories, and Wayne June gives an excellent performance of the work. Don't miss this one.

No, I couldn't read it. Tried to way back when I read everything Lovecraft wrote. Got through Dream Quest of Unknown Kadeth, but just couldn't finish At the Mountains of Madness. So I bought the audio book (which "includes"" At the Mountains of Madness). I expected it to be one of rather than all of the audiobook. No matter.

Okay. That said, this is a well narrated book and I I loved it. Wayne June does wonderful characterizations and his timing is excellent. This time I finished the book. I quit sleeping two days ago. Tekaleelee!!

Wayne June does an excellent job of evoking the sense of dread and terror that permeates "At the Mountains of Madness," which is one of my favorite Lovecraft tales due to its exceptionally vivid and horrific imagery.

I've read or listened to quite a bit of Lovecraft lately and this has to be the worst. Apparently architecture is just terrifying back in first half of the last century. And the narrator was horrible. Constant pauses mid-sentence that don't belong and a deep monotone voice that almost always put me to sleep. There are a lot of other narrators of Lovecraft that weave a much better tale and keep you listening. This guy is not one of them.

As mentioned above, there is no need to pause mid sentence to take a drag off your cigarette.
