Despite the frigid winter temperatures, tension smolders between SEAL Petty Officer Mark Jenkins and former cop turned Troubleshooter Lindsey Fontaine after an impulsive night of passion goes awry. And then, suddenly, Tracy Shapiro, the Troubleshooters' new receptionist, vanishes while playing the role of hostage during a mock rescue operation.
Teaming up with the FBI to launch a manhunt in the treacherous wilderness, Jenk and Lindsey must put aside their feelings as a record snowstorm approaches, dramatically reducing any hope of finding Tracy alive. The trail is colder than the biting New England climate until a lucky break leads to a horrifying discovery - a brutally murdered young woman wearing the jacket Tracy wore when she disappeared.
Suddenly, there is a chilling certainty that Tracy has fallen prey to a serial killer - one who knows the backwoods terrain and who doesn't play by the rules of engagement.
In a race against time, a raging blizzard, and a cunning opponent, Jenk and Lindsey are put to the ultimate test. Risking everything, they must finally come together in a desperate attempt to save Tracy - and each other.

"Brockmann knows her readers and doesn't disappoint in this suspenseful and entertaining action romance." (Publishers Weekly)
"Another Good Listen"
another good book by Brockman. Interesting characters that are related from other books and nice to see the building of the characters in this book. Good plot that keeps you guessing.
"Wow!!"
Simply said...THE BEST..I have purchased each and every audio book available in the TROUBLESHOOTERS SERIES..they are all outstanding..In this book you get your first really good look a Izzy's character...(this is where he really started to intrigue me).. Izzy, Jules & Robin, & Sam aka Roger Starett are my favorite characters...I enjoy each and everytime they are revisited throughout the series..As with all her books there are several sub plots developed throughout the story which is what makes the books in this series riveting.. Suzanne is an amazing story teller,,the best!!!
"WOW!"
I love Suzanne Brockmann's books and this one was no exception. It was filled with suspense and intrigue. I thought it took a while for the two plots to converge, but when they did, it was great. This one is a must read if you like the Troubleshooter series.
"The Best Of 10"
This book by far was the best read. The readers kept you wanting more and kept you rooting for all the players. The best!!!!
"ROMANCE With Action-Unrealistic Execution But Fun"
Sure.
Yes, I love how the separate stories twine together.
However, this installment is definitely unrealistic regarding how a SEAL Team would execute an Op [from my VERY limited knowledge]. There are training exercises and the headquarters is at a hotel - the 'team' includes 3 woman and 3 romances - through the duration.
I enjoyed it but took it for what it was - a romance book with some gory parts. Her earlier works are more action with some romance thrown in.
Two dynamic narrators...I love them.
Yes, but it took 2 days and I got NOTHING else done!
Stay at home mother of three teenagers. Love to listen while exercising or doing housework. Give me a good book and I'll make excuses to iron!
"One of my favorites"
This was such a great blend of suspense and humor (along with a dash of romance). This is one of my new favorites. I actually laughed out loud and had to stay up late just to finish this one. It was worth the missed sleep! I really enjoy this author. Even the characters that you start out hating, you cannot help really liking at the end of the book.
