"Beautiful"
I sadly don't have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to world history of the mid-1900s. This was a FABULOUS way to learn of the struggles of the D. R. This book was beautifully written without a dull moment. I HIGHLY recommend this book. This is a book I can see me coming back to in the future.

"Great "page turner""
This book definitely made me want to learn more about the DR and its history. It was also supremely entertaining, and the readings were excellent.

"Beautiful story and narration"
This is one of my favorite audio books in a long time. The narration (done by several different people) was fantastic, the story and writing drew me in the entire time. The prose is at the same time rich and beautiful, but also simple and easy to follow.

"Moving..."
I was enthralled by this story and couldn't put it down. The author skillfully wove this story based on a series of historical events. Without much to work with, she brought the girls to life without turning them into heroes. The readers were also excellent.

"Excellent!"
This is a well written book, which provides a historical perspective to Trujillo's iron fist rule of the Dominican Republic. The author does a great job improvising for the "unknown" in the life of the Mirabal sisters.
