"Not for Me"
I love Poe and Dickens but Hawthorne, not so much. I found it very hard to finish The House of Seven Gables. I love detail but I tend to lose interest when the author goes into detail about details that have little or nothing to do with the original detail. It drove me to distraction. I felt the characters were flat and that I never really got to know them.
