Publisher's Summary

Detective Lindsay Boxer is jogging along a beautiful San Francisco street when a fiery explosion rips through the neighborhood. A town house owned by an Internet millionaire is immediately engulfed in flames, and when Lindsay plunges inside to search for survivors, she finds three people dead. An infant who lived in the house cannot be found; and a mysterious message at the scene leaves Lindsay and the San Francisco Police Department completely baffled.

Then a prominent businessman is found murdered under bizarre circumstances, with another mysterious message left behind by the killer. Lindsay asks her friends Claire Washburn of the medical examiner's office, Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, and Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas to help her figure out who is committing these murders, and why they are intent on killing someone every three days.

Even more terrifying, the killer has targeted one of the four friends who call themselves the Women's Murder Club.

    "Patterson can't be outdone"

Except by himself! This third installment in the Ladies Murder Mystery Club is a sure fire winner! Bravo James (oh and Andrew LOL). Alex Cross has always been my favorite, however these Ladies are most worthy of Alex Cross' company. You must read (listen) to this book right now!

    "Just Read The Book...."

The story held my interest as the first two installments did. Patterson is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint.

However, the "sound effects" and over used music were extremely annoying. Through one entire chapter there is a ticking clock that all but over powers the reader! Explosions here and there etc...

Patterson is able to create suspense and paint the scene with his words. This book did not need any help from an over zealous audio producer. Please just read the books and spare us the extras.

I highly recommend reading this book as opposed to listening to the audio version.

    "Good Book"

As a police officer, I was able to anticipate many of the points of this book, but it held my attention throughout. The book was interestingly relevant based on some of it's twists and turns. Good job.

    "Terrific"

I love James Patterson, and this book did not disappoint. I hope he finds time to add another books to this series as with the Alex Cross stories. I was also VERY impressed with the reader of this book, but sadly disappointed with the reader of the 2nd. Too bad the 2nd was not read by Carolyn McCormick! I can't wait for more of this series!

    "Another hit for Patterson"

I found this book kept me going from beginning to end.
If you like Patterson I believe you'll love this book.
This book is not only some of Patterson's better mystery writing but it left me with something to think about when I was finished.
This was my first Patterson book on audio and a word of warning. Don't put yourself in a position that doesn't permit listening, for a couple of hours at a stretch, once you near the end of the book!

    "What happened to Patterson"

This book lacks all of the qualities we have come to expect from Patterson. The story line is very sloppy, going to the point of forgetting the plot and the characters locations during the story.

    James, where have you gone?

    "Is it over yet?"

I Got the first four Womens' M.C. books as a package. Had I known how formulaic and uninspiring they would prove to be, I would have skipped the whole lot. Adding to my disappointment was Carolyn McCormick's narration. I LOVED her as Dr. Olivette on Law and Order in early seasons, so I really expected a good read. I was sorely disappointed. Her inflection and emphasis are so wrong so much of the time it's distracting. I recommend avoiding this book.

    "good main plot"

lots of suspense and action but the subplot involving one of the club member's abusive relationship was quite annoying and the book could have done without the cheesy music and sound effects.

    "One of Patterson's Best"

Patterson has done it again! This book kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Pattersons exceptional consideration to detail makes this book one of his best yet. Alex Cross is one of my favorite characters but the woman's murder club was exceptionally good in this book. The way Patterson ties seemingly unrelated events together is brilliant!! This is a must read whether you are a Patterson fan or not!
