Publisher's Summary

Camilla Stewart is making a fresh start in Pajaro Bay after her ex-fiancé stole her life savings, embezzled from her job, and then disappeared without a trace - leaving behind nothing but his eight-year-old son, Oliver.

But when sheriff's captain Ryan Knight informs her that her ex is not only a con artist but an accused murderer, Camilla realizes she and little Oliver are the only souls on earth who can identify a serial killer... and they are next on his hit list.

Narrator Elizabeth Siedt adds just the right touch of lightness to this cozy romantic mystery, bringing to life the charming little village, with its cast of quirky characters and its funky cottages overlooking the sun-drenched coast.

The Pajaro Bay novels have won many awards, including the Romance Writers of America's prestigious Golden Heart Award for Romantic Suspense. You can learn more about the series at author Barbara Cool Lee's website, BarbaraCoolLee.com. While there, find out about the charities receiving part of the profits from the Pajaro Bay books, try out the recipes mentioned in each story, and see what's coming next from Pajaro Bay.

"This first novel in the Pajaro Bay romance series promises great things to come!" says InD'tale Magazine. "It is written well, with interesting characters that are easy to like. The novel holds the reader's interest with romance, intrigue, danger and murder. The author's theme of redemption and forgiveness is well thought out. One will love getting to know the characters in this story where everyone has a secret! Also, the author has 10% of all profits going to charities. With all that, what's not to love?"

    "Surprisingly compelling read"

I'm always a bit wary when buying something by a virtually unknown author. Nine times out of ten, I'm disappointed - but books like this one inspire me to keep taking chances on a new name.

It was lovely! I can hardly wait for the next one to come out. Great job Barbara! Write faster!

    "I really loved this book"

Like the last reviewer I have never heard of this author. I too took a chance. AND I too can't wait for another book by Barbara Cool Lee. This story was really well written. It was complete. I will read the next Pajaro Bay Romance. If this is Barbara's first I can't wait for the next. If there are more that Audible doesn't have available I will request them.

    "The Honeymoon Cottage"

The story was entertaining. It was good, but not great. I found the acoustics were "tiney" sounding, which annoyed me.
